Best WLM Reviews
The room design itself is quite nice. I had a King bed and although the tv doesn't line up with the bed directly, it's spacious. My 1 star review comes from the lack of cleanliness and maintenance upkeep. I have been a professional cleaner for over a decade and this place was awful when it came to being cleaned in between guests. The floors, shower walls, and base of toilet had definitely not been cleaned. The bathroom vent and top of hair dryer were also very dirty. All the glass tops were smeared and the top of headboard hadn't been wiped down in quite a long time. There was food left in the fridge from the last guest and hadn't been wiped out...on top of all of that, the microwave and coffee maker didn't work and none of the floor/bed lights had been plugged in. The tv also didn't work, I moved it and used my projector instead. I was on a vacation to grieve the 12th anniversary of my sons death and didn't want to be bothered waiting for them to fix everything so I just dealt with it. I did take pictures of everything and left a note for housekeeping. This place could be amazing if the owners took better care of it and got their housekeepers to do better. The staff seemed nice enough although I did have one housekeeper yelling down to someone about me choosing to not leave the room one day. The motel is located just off the highway so it's a great location to travel around.
Disgusting. We checked in but did not stay. Sheets were stained. Bathroom sink did not have a handle to turn it on. Bathtub was stained. Shower curtain and shower wall were stained with purple substance. Curtains were stained and ripped. Fridge had rusted shelves. Furniture was stained. I did not want to sit or touch anything. We did not feel safe in the room or with the people loitering outside the room. Staff could not be found when we left. I can’t understand how this place can stay in business.
Positive: Friendly staff, lovely outdoor area, with clean pool. Negative: No towel rack. No place to hang clothes. Floor was very dirty even after I asked them to clean it. Curtains had holes. Pool furniture in poor repair.
If you like nostalgias this is the motel for you , looks like it was build in the early 1950’s private owners , does not look like a chain hotel , the building is painted white with doors facing the parking lots. There really is no check in service you must call a phone number , checking out you leave your card in your room ? The interior could use a make over , the electric outlets are worn loose so your plugs fall out ,the bathroom is small enough discs for a short toilet and tub. , the floor of the tub wobbles under your feet the wood supports are probably worn down like standing on egg crates when showering , other than that it was clean nice canle service poor remotes though , located close to highway which is nice
Positive: Friendly staff. Clean. Nice place, needs a clothing rack though. Negative: No place to hang clothes.
I don’t know if this was a bedbug or not but previous comments mentioned bedbugs. The place was disgusting. There was trash in the barrels. The sheets were dirty. I was horrified and could not sleep all night! never again never again. I don’t know if this was a bedbug or not but previous comments mentioned bedbugs. The place was disgusting. We were coming into town after a 1500 mile drive, and when we got close, I called Anchorage Inn to ask if they had a room available. My initial attraction was that they had a pool and allowed pets. I was told there was one room available and that booking now was the only way I could make sure I got it. I expressed that I would prefer to see the place first, but had already been in a situation where there were no local rooms, and I was eager to avoid a repeat occurrence. I booked two nights, needing three, but was told there was no availability on the third night. I asked if this person was on site and she said she worked with the reservations department for the inn.
When I arrived on site, it looked absolutely nothing like the photos online. There is no lobby. There is no 'front desk'. Well, there is, but it is locked away and appears to be where the manager's family lives. The outdoor pool is surrounded by weeds and is unlit. There were people sitting outside smoking who appeared to also live on the facility. I went to where the front desk should be, and there was a sign on the door with a 'call this number to check in'. When I spoke with 'a manager' outside, she told me she would ring someone, because she could not help me. I realized at this point that the rate I had pre-paid was absolutely absurd for the location, and told the next person I spoke with. She instructed me to call Expedia and cancel my reservation, and she would approve my cancellation due to the overcharge.
I had never deliberately called Expedia in the first place. I called the number listed as the phone number for the facility. It apparently automatically rings to a reservations line for Expedia. I should mention here that it was very clear the rooms were mostly vacant, and the woman I spoke with on site confirmed. As I was leaving, I became very uncomfortable with the site and the perceived safety, given that I intended to stay with my mother and children. I called Expedia to cancel the reservation, sat on hold for 15 minutes, was promised a call back, and never got it. I called back later, requested a representative, and got straight through. At that point, the representative called the inn, but could not cancel my reservation as they were told I had already checked in two hours ago. I never received a key or checked in at all. I spoke to the woman at the window and she had told me she would approve. I am disputing the charge with my bank.
I left my keys there and I live in Maine they are sending them to me very happy about that but the rooms were being “remodeled”
And had lots of dust
