Went during the Christmas Season and the whole place was decorated Beautifully!! Even the indoor pool had a Christmas tree!!
Santa came around and made visits too!!
The place is right across from the beach. With an amazing view of the Lighthouse!

This hotel was simply delightful. The rooms were nice and clean and the front desk was open 24/7. The front desk staff was very helpful. The indoor pool was a unique touch. The location had a gorgeous view of the ocean and the sunrise was incredible!
The Staff and the Views are amazing here! You truly can't beat the location of Anchorage Inn. It's right across the road from Long Sands and the Surf and Sun restaurant. However, being across the road does mean you lose some of the wave crashing sound and view. Some rooms also have obstructed views! The rooms were clean but dated. The beds were comfortable but small and somewhat bare. The balcony floor wiggled a bit in places and the carpet on the balcony had some wear and tear. There is only one elevator and it is not centered so it can be very far from your room. The snack bar/market was well stocked and reasonably priced. The pools were very nice. A bus full of senior travelers came in right before we did but the staff kept their cool and had a lovely demeanor. Overall a nice play to stay in York Beach.
If you want to be dismissed and gaslit by hotel management and front desk staff, this is the place for you.
We voiced the multiple issues we were encountering to front desk staff (two times) and we encountered total indifference. Not once was there an apology for the multiple issues (such as noise levels all night long in the adjacent room and smoking in a non-smoking building, and being unable to use various property amenities, to name a few).
We were both so excited to enjoy a long anticipated, relaxing, kids-free girls getaway overnight to enjoy some nice amenities and a peaceful, restorative sleep. This experience was far from it, and it was clear that customer satisfaction or repeat business is not in their vernacular.
We almost always enjoy our stay at the Anchorage! The Ocean Suite was wonderful, but both mornings we were disturbed quite early which was disappointing trying to have a restful weekend. The first morning we were woken by staff knocking on our door twice for room service. Our second morning the guests on the third floor had kids running across the floor at 6am which continued for almost an hour. We were always mindful of things like this when our four were small.
Just good in all. Great access to nearby activities. Restaurant right across the street is really helpful because I don’t have to go somewhere far to eat dinner. Poolside cafe is good. Good pools great for kids. Atrium building is AWSOME the pool is never too busy. I wish I could go more other than just in the summer but they are open year round which is great so if I ever have the time to go any other time I will.
This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. It’s very clean and the staff is so nice. The pool is wonderful and the location is right across the beach. It’s perfect honestly. I love coming up here to stay! It’s so wonderful and it’s so close to short sands beach as well.
This place is great, especially if you have kids. The hotel has that old school New England family resort vibe. In a good way! I did not grow up coming here but it still felt nostalgic as a lifelong New Englander. The rooms were fine. Not 5 star and a bit dated.. Completely acceptable for the price point and amenities/location. We weren’t staying here for the rooms anyways.
The beach access is what makes this hotel stand out. One of New England’s best and most scenic family beaches (IMO and I live on Cape Cod) is literally right across the street.
The pools here are great for kids and having the bar access at the pool is a nice touch for adults. Again, nothing fancy, but fun! Perfectly friendly service also.
I will definitely stay here again when visiting York beach. Compared to the price of the Air B and B we stayed at on our last trip to the area we found staying here to be a better value and more fun for our family.
