I don’t recommend this motel. My friend and I had a prepaid reservation to stay before a cruise out of Galveston the next morning. There was no one working in the office, a number was posted to call for help. Once we entered the room and looked at the beds and in the bathroom, we decided it was not a place we were comfortable staying the night in. Several men were hanging out. I guess they had rooms. The beds didn’t match, barely fit in the room and the bedding looked very old and worn. The bathtub looked like something I had no desire to step into. We returned the key and said we wouldn’t be staying. (The whole place needs a serious remodel.) We stayed somewhere else and I haven’t heard from the manager. Since I went on a cruise the next morning, I didn’t call. I figure the $70 I lost by prepaying was not worth risking my health and safety by staying in this disgusting and creepy motel. Lesson learned! Please keep looking for a different place to spend the night!
Family stayed 1 night 8/23/2024. Double bed was perfect reminded us of our grandmas house . Felt right at home . Great price. Not fancy but did what we needed. Shower toilet tv towels microwave mini frig and beds . The ladies were very sweet and very prompt . Very personable which we like.. we slept great wasnt noisy and our boat was safe parked on the side. Beach was nice just a short walk . But we will stay there again. Price was right n the location!!! This place is always booked by the way. O yea g string man doesnt bite lol
For a cheap but yet clean & bug free place to stay that's CLOSE to the beach, Anchor Motel is a FANTASTIC choice to stay !!! It was my 1st time to Surfside Beach, and I was VERY PLEASED with my full week stay at Anchor !!! I love that I didn't have to ever deal with not 1 roach, mouse, bed bug , no spider's, or anything. I have been to hotels that were more than $100-$150 per night & I can honestly say that I was just as comfy and pleased with Anchor !! We stayed from Sunday to Sunday & we loved & enjoyed our time !! We were there during the back side band's of Tropical Storm Alberto (2024) came through, most of the area was flooded but even on the bottom floor, we were completely dry, I personally give all Glory & Praise to God for that !!! Thank you to the incredible, awesome manager & the sweet, amazing cleaning lady. These ladies are doing a phenominal job !! I will definitely go back !! I included a few pic's of right after the storm, some from other day's on the beach & of course my final time on the beach the day we left & God's Beautiful promise to us all !!!

The actual rooms were just not good at all. Very much in need of repair/ remodeling.
Beds are old and extremely uncomfortable. Bedding felt sandy. Walls had visible spills/dirt. Sticker decals on the wall were peeling off and a tapestry was stapled to the wall. I really wanted to love this place because it's very affordable. I hope the owner will consider some upgrades. It could be a really fabulous beach motel.
I was going camping because there is free beach camping a little bit up the road. I came to this motel instead because there were too many mosquitos on the beach. I ended up with an extended stay because I loved it there so much and the price was reasonable.
Staff was sweet and helpful,rooms were clean and comfortable. Manager even baked me a cake for my birthday!!! That was delicious!!! Great location!!! Coming back every birthday weekend!!! See y’all next year!!
We had a wonderful stay last weekend. Loved the atmosphere, people were very friendly. Loved the hangout area upstairs with an incredible view. Room we stayed it was clean. We will definitely be coming back, especially because of the price. Front dest lady named Rebecca was friendly, and helpful. Thank you all for everything!
