My favorite place to eat! Go every time we visit my bio family it’s a must on our list to get the cheese enchiladas with rice! Genuinely wish we had one here in Florida writing this review literally wishing I was there instead of here! Picture of the family right outside right after eating!
Great place to go in Hutchinson. Interior is unique. It has been a staple downtown since '77. The staff was attentive. They have buffet Wed-Sat for a reasonable price. Tamales and rice are decent, and I enjoy their tortillas. It's buffet food so don't set your expectations too high. If you order off the menu I feel like the quality is a little better. Good place to hit the bar and watch the game. They also have room for larger parties and events. I'll upgrade to five stars once the restroom facilities get a little more cleaning attention. Consistently good experiences.

My wife & I love to take a trip from Wichita to Hutchinson when we want the very best Mexican restaurant in the state.
I highly recommend Anchor Inn any time you are in Hutchinson, KS.
First time eating here and it was amazing. The waitress was amazing, she constantly checked on us and refilled our drinks and was so sweet!, the food was delicious (we did buffet) the pork chili is to die for. It's totally worth the 30 min drive for us, we will be back!
When it comes to family mexican restaurants in Hutchinson, KS. The Anchor Inn is the gold standard of Mexican cuisine. They might not have a single specific dish that is done to perfection, rather they have an entire menu that sets the bar for every other Mexican restaurant in town. Nothing on their menu disappoints and if you try the buffet you will see that everything is good and they will have to roll you out to your car because you will be so stuffed you won't be able to walk.
The food was old/cold. There was no seasoning on anything and you could tell it had been sitting out for a while. Wouldn’t have been bad if there was some flavor to the food but the buffet part itself was fairly messy as well.
