Best WLM Reviews
We had a drink outside, that part was wonderful. I ordered their steak deal $29.99 with asparagus and asked if I wanted cheese and bacon on my twice baked potato...my potato was microwaved, I got honey mustard instead of melted cheese, for them I was guessing, looked like in their windows.
For the money, I'd rather eat a bad game of Russian Roulette.
Yeah
Took a roadtrip and In order to play music on our phone it had to be plugged into an aux cord and it was on 5% battery. We were hungry and wanted to get out of the vehicle for a bit so found this cute little place to grab a bite to eat and charge our phone. The food was absolutely delicious! The ahi tuna appetizer was fire! Followed by those tasty sliders! Elizabeth was our server and she was just so sweet and really felt happy to be there. We sat by the fire pit and drank a beer while waiting for our food to arrive. The only complaint I have is this one server named Jaimie. Maybe she was having a bad night idk but we arrived just after 8 and I could hear her telling everyone around us that it was Sunday the place closed at 9. We had stopped her to ask if there was an outlet that we could charge our phone on and she told us no. I then clarified with her…”you don’t have a power outlet anywhere in this building I can plug into?” She then affirmed “no” with a very unwelcoming vibe. She wasn’t even our server and this is the vibe she gave off…I get it’s Sunday and you are closing soon but you should never make your guests feel as if they are burdening you. We then asked our serve Elizebeth if there was a place we could plug our phone in at and she was more than happy to take it and charge it for us while we ate. Love the vibe here!
Great food and atmosphere. The service (at least at the bar where I sit) is excellent and the conversation is engaging. Whether the boneless wings, salads or my favorite, the jalapeno burger, the food is top notch. I have been coming every Wednesday since February 5th and, it's my Cheers place to go place. I highly recommend this as one of Magic Valley's treasures.
Stopped for dinner here while in the area camping on the recommendation of a friend. I have mixed feelings about the place but mostly positive. Will start with the positives first.
Positives:
- Great menu with lots of options.
- Mac and cheese with chicken was enjoyed by my daughter.
- Husband liked the fish and chips but said the batter got a little soft from the steam of the fish.
- Their garlic Parmesan fries are absolutely amazing, could eat those every day.
- Our server Veronica was super sweet and helpful.
Negatives:
- My cocktail was rather bland for $9.
- The Alfredo sauce on the chicken bacon fettuccine might as well have been water. They need to use the garlic Parmesan sauce on the fries for the pasta instead. Would be delicious.
- We initially we're going to sit outside, but the flies were so bad that we asked to have a table inside instead. The flies were just as bad inside as they were outside.
Overall, the meal was good and the service was even better. We'd definitely go back and try it again, but I do not recommend the chicken bacon fettuccine.
A bistro this is not.
A proper sports bar is the right description. The location was very busy and had a 15-minute wait. I was promptly seated in less than that and picked buffalo wings with their garlic parmesan fries.
The wings were delicious. They were served whole and they were of a nice size. The sauce had a perfect mix of spiciness and tangy flavors. The blue cheese, a nice consistency.
The fries, though, were dead on arrival. Cold to the point they almost felt reheated. They should not have been served. After a quick roll of the eyes by one of the servers, fresh fries appeared. They were just ok. The garlic did not show too much on them.
I'd visit again with a group to watch sports.
Jamie was our server. She was fantastic! She was quick to get our order, gave great wine recommendations, accommodated a food allergy with understanding and care. It is a must go to spot for me and my friends for great food and service.
Side note try the new Cajun shrimp pasta. It was extremely flavorful with lots of earthy notes. However if you were a 90s kid you will remember pizza huts Supreme Pizza with this dish. (Due to the sausage) it comes at the end of the rest of the flavorful notes of the dish in question. It was a delightful surprise to me and others who tried it. A great prank for those who have more sophisticated palate and is a foodie. It was good and I definitely want to eat it again. The menu has been updated.
It hurts my heart greatly to say this but the standards at Anchor seem to be dropping significantly lately. My husband and I have been customers here for almost 7 years and Anchor was always our favorite bar until recently. They have taken a lot of great things off of their menu like the sweet potato fries, beet salad, and their fish tacos used to be made with fresh fish and we just found out that they use frozen fish now.The menu was so good before and the changes just don't make sense. All of our beers have been warm and flat the last couple times we've been. The service has also dropped greatly. They just don't seem as organized and caring anymore.
9/20/24 Update:
We came back to Anchor recently after waiting a couple months in hopes that the food would be good like it used to be and it's even worse now. One of the last things I still used to enjoy on their menu were the chicken tenders. For almost a decade they had the best, non greasy, super crispy chicken tenders anywhere and now they are literally oozing grease and are SO greasy that the breading on them turns into a paste after 5 minutes. On top of that, our garlic fries were the same story. They were covered in so much grease that they were just a congealed mushy pile of potato. Beers were room temperature. Wings are soggy and covered in way too much sauce. It breaks my heart that the food standards keep dropping here.
Stopped in while in town for work. Food was really really good. The staff was excellent, and the vibes were good. Also a great spot to watch the game. I’ll definitely be back.
