This place was walking distance from where I was staying while in town. Checked it out because the guy at the hotel front desk recommended it. It was ok. They’re known for their wings. I tried the queso and chips and white pizza on two separate occasions. Both were pretty good. I ordered side salad and macaroni salad as sides. I did not enjoy either salad. If you visit this spot I’d stick to the queso and wings.
My recent visit to Anchor Bar was truly wonderful! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, demonstrating a great deal of flexibility with our timing. Communication was easy and pleasant. The food itself was delicious – a real highlight of the evening. And finally, the atmosphere was awesome; it was the perfect setting for a memorable occasion. I highly recommend Anchor Bar to anyone looking for a great meal in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
During our two-night stay in Buffalo, we dined at Anchor Bar Transit Road both evenings. It is common to worry about the quality and service at popular establishments, as they may not always uphold high standards due to their existing fame. However, this was not the case at Anchor Bar on Transit Road. On our first visit, our waitress Danny was delightful, attentive, and funny. We enjoyed our chicken wings and drinks immensely. The second time, Jessica took care of us and accommodated our requests for how we wanted our chicken wings prepared. Both experiences were fantastic, and we will definitely return to this location next time we're in Buffalo. We also visited the Anchor Bar in downtown Buffalo, but it was too crowded and hectic for our liking, so we opted to dine at the Transit Road location instead. If you prefer a less busy, quieter environment with prompt service, I recommend taking an Uber and visiting this location for a fulfilling dining experience.
Btw I ordered full summer cocktails menu (around 4-5 cocktails) and my hubby had beers (2-3beers) then 10 chicken wings with hot sauce, 1 French fries (the fries are crunchy and great). Total bill is 90-100$ not including tips
Food was excellent, Katie our server was fabulous, competent and sweet. Nice and quiet for a relaxing evening with great food and service :)! If you like crispy wings I recommend the charbroiled extra crispy. The honey bourbon bbq and new honey flavor were great especially if you don’t like your wings too spicy.
Not joking… the best wings I’ve ever had!
This past Sunday came into the restaurant around 6pm with a party of 7, including 3 young children (4, 2, infant). We were sat immediately and the waitress was there to take our drink orders within a minute.
Service was great, food was great, cleanliness was great.
Having a baby change table in the men's bathroom really was the icing on the cake.
Kids had a blast checking out the memorabilia and chatting with the waitress.
We will 100% be back.

The staff is excellent. The food is good. The music will make you want to stab your ears.
Edit: another table asked them to change the music, and they did, for the better.
Wings were great, little hole in the wall feel to it, I also loved the pizza egg rolls!
