Best WLM Reviews
We have always loved Anchor Allies. I was surprised to see I haven’t already reviewed it because at one point they had my favorite salad.
Today, however, was a different experience than our usual. I ordered the Shipsbell omelette which was a usual of mine. This time was really different. The omelette was smaller with only a very little bit of crab on top of the omelette and three shrimp in it. I paid for hollandaise and didn’t receive it but overall wasn’t very tasty.
The rest of the guests were really underwhelmed with their food. The scrambled eggs weren’t good. The home fries were not seasoned and the biscuits and gravy also seemed under seasoned than it usually is.
The service however was great and the restaurant is still very cute and clean. I’m hoping to come back and hopefully update this review
Traveling from WI - this place was amazing. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but so so worth the walk - and needed after that phenomenal meal. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual, I felt right at home. The service was even better, Jamie H. made us feel welcome and loved and accommodated our every request. Iced mocha lattes were smooth and not too sweet, bloody was fantastic although I would have preferred a pickle spear and a cheese stick, but maybe that’s a WI thing. The espresso waffle was the perfect combination of soft/chewy/crisp, the flavor was out of this world. Breakfast tacos were fantastic - a little messy to eat but delightful to the tastebuds. Omelet was perfectly prepared and the presentation was on point. Home fries not too crispy not too soft. I’m telling you this was the BEST dining experience I have had in a long time and it compelled me to write a review. In a world where customer service is a dying amenity, Anchor Allie’s Carrie’s the torch onward. Thank you for the outstanding service and experience.
I have been a customer for years living within walking distance. I have watched this place go from a fun place to eat to a disaster. The staff and service are worse each time.
Sat at the bar and got coffee and placed my food order. After 30 minutes, I was asked by the same person who took my order if I had got my food yet. She checks and says she forgot to put the order in, so I patiently wait. After an hour of being here, she says I keep having problems putting your order in, let me tell them.
I decide to just cancel the order as an hour has passed with less than 8 customers in the place. Then I am handed a check for the coffee? Of course I have no problem paying for the single item but common sense should prevail here.
Attached it the receipt for my wasted time. I am surprised the lady could even give me that considering the slurred speech and disorientation.
On the positive side, less than $4 later I will never have to deal with this place again.
Just ate here. It sucks. Cock roach as soon as you walk in on the floor. The tea to sweet and tasted weird. Pancakes were okay but undercooked. Tator Tots were good. Server never gave us our water we ordered after the tea. Eggs were slimy and rubbery. Avoid this place.
Absolutely amazing! The food was great, the service/receiving food after order was surprisingly fast. If you are a Bloody Mary fan, definitely try the Bloody Mike.
Update: 10/19/24
I am updating this review with a heavy heart as this place was a yearly visit for vacation that both me and my wife very much looked forward to for the better part of a decade. The menu has been cut down to nearly half of its former glory with ALL of the items we ordered for years being amongst the missing. Service was slow, and everything ordered was very overcooked. Staff seemed to be very disorganized, resulting in us having 3 different servers throughout our visit. Unfortunately, it was a bad enough experience for us to call it quits. We had a good run Allie.
Great food and service. The owner is always there and paying attention that everything is good. Great place! The breakfast tacos are delicious!
The atmosphere is welcoming and the name matches the theme. I love the artwork on the wall. The service was great and we were seated quickly. The food was good. Viewed the drink menu and the list invited me to come back. Early morning I just got an apple juice to go with my breakfast. I didn’t understand why it was t packed or that it was a wait. The food was good. It’s a really good breakfast spot.
Came here for brunch the other morning with my husband and I enjoyed it so much. Had a breakfast sandwich with ham, eggs over hard and provolone cheese. Homemade seasoned potatoes. Husband had the BLT on white toast w/ff. Loved the FF! Cute inside and tons of drink specials weekly! Will be back!
