Best WLM Reviews

The hotel was clean and inviting. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I didn’t have time to eat at the on-site restaurant, but the on-site Starbucks was there to help get me caffeinated to start my day. ||This hotel definitely caters to tourists wanting to visit Disneyland, yet it was perfectly suited to serve my business travel needs: quiet, good WiFi, and plenty of desk space to spread out my work. Additionally, its location in Garden Grove was perfectly suited for side trips to Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Anaheim and Fullerton without having to battle traffic on the freeways. ||Finally, I left my car keys on my room when I checked out, and when I realized my keys were missing, I called Laura, a Front Desk Supervisor, who helped locate the keys and ship them to me back on the East Coast. I truly believe that without her help I would be in a world of hurt. She totally saved the day and should be commended for being so helpful. I don’t know who from housekeeping was that found the keys, but he or she should be commended as well. ||I certainly look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Orange County.
Yesterday (Saturday 12/14) morning we called the desk to send housekeeping to change the sheets in our room, because our 6 year old had spilled a water bottle. |The man I spoke to said that they would send someone right away, so we left for the day and spent the entire day at Disneyland. We arrived a bit past midnight only to find that our room had not been serviced at all.|I called the front desk and spoke to a man and let him know what had happened, he said he would send someone right up. I had to call twice to make sure that someone was coming because it had been 10 minutes and no one had showed up, please keep in mind that we bave a 6 year old who was falling asleep after a long day at Disneyland. I would not have been worried about the timing of it was just my husband and I. Finally when someone showed up it was a man who did not seem to be a housekeeping staff member, he brought a pile of sheets and a pillow he did not offer to replace the sheets on our bed he just handed them to us and we were expected to change them ourselves, something I find inappropriate in general but in particular in this situation as the hotel failed to service our room as requested. |I called downstairs to the desk and expressed my dissatisfaction and disappointment. I asked to speak to the manager, the man that I spoke to said he was the manager, (Jeff) and I expressed that I was very disappointed and upset and he did not offer an apology or to handle the filing of our complaint. This is a horrific lack of customer service and as a Marriott bonvoy member I have never had a negative experience in a Marriott bonvoy hotel in the states. I intended to file a complaint within the hotel as well as on corporate level. ||Well today Sunday 12/15 I went to the desk to discuss my family's bad experience and check out. I truly wanted to just feel valued as a Marriott member and guest, but what ended up happening was the worst hotel customer service I've ever experienced. ||I expressed that we had a bad experience and the man at the desk named Carlos was incredibly dismissive and disrespectful. He tried to say that us asking for late checkout was compensation and I explained that actually we had wanted late checkout before any of this took place. He stated that "to be frank, it's not the hotel's fault that your son spilled water" when I had stated the issue about us having arrived to our room not having been serviced and that I thought it was out of order to have been given sheets for us to make our own bed when we're paying to stay at the hotel. I was literally dumbfounded at his claim, because certainly the accident wasn't the hotels fault however they are responsible to service our room. I stated that we prepaid for our room and that I recognize that the lack of service wasn't his fault in particular, I wanted to know what he was going to do to make the situation right. He spoke over me and interrupted me repeatedly, with condescending, disrespectful tones. I expressed that the way he was speaking to me was not appropriate, and he probably wouldn't speak to me if in such a way if I was a man or not Latina and that if the roles were reversed he would probably be just as disappointed as I am. He blew up saying that he was Mexican and that he was done with the conversation because now I was bringing race into it. I had literally observed him speaking politely and respectfully to other hotel guests, but honestly with how aggressively he was speaking to me and speaking over me and gaslighting me while I was complaining by saying that he wasn't raising his voice I truly didn't feel safe or comfortable to keep the conversation going with him, so I got my folio from him and exited the hotel. I called the corporate number and filed a complaint. ||I truly urge ANYONE from ANY background considering this hotel to not bother booking here. There are numerous hotels all over the area, please do your research and avoid this hotel at all costs, may no one reading this ever experience anything like I did. I would rate this 0 if I could. ||(By the way I tried to upload a photo I took of the bed and the sheets we were given but the site won't let me upload the photo.)
It’s not the most family friendly room. There’s no hot water available, we were trying to use a small coffee maker to produce hot water so we can warm up some milk. We also would heat up food but you have to go the ice room all the time cause they only have one microwave per floor. The carpet is dirty and beds were not comfy. The room is kind of outdated.
On the other hand, if you don’t have kids it might work for you because the location is great, the view is great also and the staff are really nice.
Rooms are NOT TO MARRIOTT STANDARDS. Having traveled a fair amount for work and stayed at Marriott properties across the US, this was one of the worst in terms of refurbishments. Holes in the sheets, cracks in the sink, a shower that could not regulate hot water that made it almost impossible to bath an infant, a hair dryer that’s plug was literally falling apart and clearly a fire hazard.
If your room “lucky” enough to be near the elevator, you can hear the grinding of the spools through the walls each time they are in motion.
On the good side, good price for a hotel 7 minute drive from Disneyland, employees were nice and accommodating, easy parking on site ($25/day), Starbucks in the lobby was fast and offered mobile orders.
Hotel seemed to be managed well and having a starbucks was nice. Rooms were fine. The temperature control was not ideal, it was either really warm or way to cold no matter what temperature it was set to. The bathroom door when opend fully, scrapped the ground, and if you’re in a room near an elevator, you will hear it going all night. Location was good and staff were friendly.
The location was good but it ends there. This hotel needs a refresh bad! Rooms are stuffy, smelly, and old. AC is bad, wouldn’t get cool. The room size was nice but the carpet and furniture needs to be replaced. The shower head looked to be 30 years old and all corroded and the tub didn’t drain well so you stand in 6” of water while trying to shower. I expected better for a Marriott. I wouldn’t stay here again.
We stayed for 3 nights while visiting Disneyland. We had an incredible room with a seating area and separate bedroom and the room was clean. There was no safe in the room which was the only downfall. The hotel was a 40 min walk to Disneyland but we took the ART shuttle bus, it was $16 for 3 day unlimited travel on the number 3 bus to Disney and back, arriving every 20mins or so. Room was very spacious.
HIGHLY DISAPOINTED! The service was horrible from the very start. I was traveling out of state and my car broke down and notified the hotel staff (Lora) that I would be arriving late to the hotel. Lora asked if I thought I'd arrive around 1am, my exact response was " I honestly do not know since I do have to get towed". Lora told me to call and let her know incase I wouldn't make it by then, which I did. Once I notified her of my arrival time she was extremely rude stating that they could of rented my room to someone else(which they did) My reservation was not respected. I arrived to the hotel at 2:17am. Once I get to the hotel I was checked in by Jeff, he failed to notify me of the changes that were done to my reservation and charged my card. I had to go to my room to only find out that their was less beds for me and my family to sleep on. I went back down to the front desk and spoke to him and his best answer was that its based on what's available and its not a guarantee when we make reservations. Jeff also suggested for my family to sleep on the FLOOR by providing blankets and pillows. INSANE!!!
My family & I will NEVER stay here again!!!! I have told friends and they will never stay here either!! WORST EXPIERENCE/CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!
