Best WLM Reviews

I'm giving this a one star because this hotel does not exist at this location, so I felt tricked. The name of the hotel at the actual address is Somerset Lofts. Sometimes Google maps messes up addresses, but the hotel owners need to fix it. Even the general user can submit corrections to Google maps. They also need to correct the google maps description to reflect that they don't serve breakfast.
Now my experience. We booked a hotel on our way south for just one night. We arrive at the address and the hotel is not there. I call them and they give me the address which was a mile away. The sign out front said Somerset Lofts. I had already read a few reviews and decided against that one. If we hadn't arrived at midnight, I would have asked for a refund and gotten a room at one of the dozens of other hotels right in the vicinity.
But we stayed, because it was late. The desk clerk was polite and apologetic about the wrong address, but I still don't know why they had a different name. Maybe to lure people in? Somerset Lofts has some bad reviews. The rest of my review is about that.
When I pulled around the corner to park my car, I saw about a dozen people just hanging about and maybe partying in the back lot of the hotel. That was uncomfortable. Longer term residents? I don't have a problem with that, but at midnight on a Wednesday? There were bottles strewn about, etc. The hotel needs to have quiet hours and safe spaces. Luckily, someone pulled out of the front of the parking lot and I parked there. I complained to the desk clerk, but I think they don't know what to do about it. He told me they have cameras inside the halls and outside.
The worst part of the experience happened about 2 and again at 3 am. Some of the teenagers staying there were wandering around the hallways talking loudly. Woke us up out of a sound sleep. My husband got up and asked them politely to quiet down and they did, briefly. I don't mind staying in a budget hotel, but I've never had that happen in one before.
The next morning, I again politely complained. The morning clerk was also very polite and apologetic, but seemed not to know what to do about it. The owners should be able to come up with something. They have cameras. They can figure out who the parents are and fine them or threaten eviction if it continues. I wouldn't let my kids roam around a hotel at midnight, let alone 3am.
If they hadn't woken us up, I would have given this hotel 2 stars (3 stars if they can stop the partying in the back lot). The bed was ok and the room was clean and spacious and seemed recently painted. And in the morning, I saw another room being painted, so they are maintaining it. And the clerks were polite.
One last note, they don't have coffee makers in the room, but will give you a Keurig pod or two for the lobby use. They didn't have cups, claiming they were on order. Luckily, we had our travel mugs.
I made reservations to the hotel, but unfortunately wasn’t able to make it. On the Expedia site, it says you can cancel for free as long as it’s the day before. Long story short I called and canceled, never checked in but they still charged my card. There is no direct website and the number associated with the hotel on Expedia is someone’s person phone #. After several called Expedia finally reimburse me my money after declining at first due to the fact that neither I or them were able to get anyone to answer the phone. Be careful at this place and booking through Expedia.
Omg very clean and quiet! Very up to date.I would've given a five star but I didn't get breakfast. I understand the pandemic but I've been to other hotels and they were still serving breakfast. It's the most important meal of the day. Maybe breakfast can be a grab and go? Dining area doesn't have to be open to dine in.
If zero stars were possible, I would give. I recommended this place to dozens of people and before renovations there were zero issues. I mean hotel was old but priced accordingly. Now they have gorgeous rooms but it seems they are trying to cover renovation costs by charging people's cards days to weeks after checkout for damages they are not responsible for. 3 I know were charged $300 days after checkout for smoking. 2 of which do not smoke and the other requested they check cameras to see she went outside to smoke and why did they first return deposit then remove three times deposit amount? Another friend was charged for a blow dryer and she is a hair dresser with an arsenal of tools that doesn't need to steal a hotel blow dryer. This is a scam and these people need to be arrested! They are preying on customers to pay for their newly renovated hotel which is a nice 2.5 star but after you are charged damages, you are better off just spending $500 at a 4 or 5 star.
Rooms are new. Very nice. Staff at front desk very nice. Management is dishonest with respect to what they say they are charging you outside cost of the room. One way conversation if you can call be yelled at for a screw being loose that you bring to their attention. No dispute policy when you are blatantly being charge for a $25 for a loose screw that you report to,them and get charged $100. Management would not even let me explain that I reported it to,staff there. Oh and nothing was broken, the window just slide open further than it was supposed to and I thought they should know about it. They certainly know how to ruin a nice quiet one evening stay, even though their construction started at 5am. I'm not one to make issue with things of that nature but the check out and dishonest and condescending management ( I'm 56 yr. old professional) was a bit much to take. I'd be very wary of considering a stay at this hotel, I know after being a repeat customer, that... well I think the rest is understood. Travel safely and be careful, doing the right thing in a hotel can really backfire on you. I don't know when but I'll guarantee that any felonious charges will,be refunded. A smart business or respectable hotel would actually refund me entirely and offer an overnite stay at no charge. I wish Madison Suites Hotel in Somerset, NJ all the best
Reserved a room with a 1pm check in and none of the rooms had been ready so my check in didn't happen till about 2:30, 2:45.... Then they upgraded me to the first available room which was a king suite I believe and mentioned the shower leaked a little. Come to find out the railing to the steps was detached from one end, the shower didn't work at all and its suppose to be a smoke free hotel but as soon as you make it upstairs the hallways reek of marijuana smoke.... Never again
This is the worst hotel I have even seen. I lived in here on 7/24 and 7/26. The front desk people is very unfriendly and very bad attitude to the guests. They don't have patient and yell to us. When we went into the room, the room and bed was very dirty. The bed cover was very thin. And all the selling machine were out of device, you need to take money to the front desk and ask them to buy drinks. Very bad experience and feeling. I'll never come back again.
I would say this place is pretty average. It's not the worst I have stayed in, but not the best either.
The Good: The breakfast in the morning has a decent amount of options available. The staff are helpful and fairly friendly. The suites have a very cool two story layout and separate air conditioning for both floors.
The meh: The booking information said the room would have tempurpedic beds, these were not that. There is no conditioner offered as a complimentary, but there is shampoo. Most of the stuff seemed pretty dated. One bar of hand soap (no liquid soap) to share between two bathrooms. Only two towels and one hand towel.
The bad: There was a towel rack in the upstairs bathroom that was broken. The first person who took a shower got hot water in the morning, after that we couldn't get hot shower water in the room(will talk to front desk about it if it doesn't change tonight).
