Best WLM Reviews
The exterior is really neat. It looks like a great old timey, type of diner. Inside the seating areas are about decent with booths and chairs. But the atmosphere was missing that special touch you normally get from a diner. Nothing really special.
The service was less than attentive. It appeared there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant and there were about 20 or so customers. The only time I spoke to the waiter was getting water, ordering, receiving the order, and getting my bill. The waiter did apologize for not coming around more, so that was a plus.
The food definitely left a lot to be desired. I was actually still hungry after eating. I had the chicken and waffles with a side of 2 eggs and a milkshake. The fried chicken was overly fried, and the sauce on the chicken and waffles was unusual but palatable. Thankfully, they did not charge for the peanut butter. (If you haven't had peanut butter on waffles, you're missing out. The eggs were fine and properly cooked.
Now the milkshake. In what I consider the pinnacle of every restaurant that considers itself a diner was woefully missing in the mark in this case. You could actually drink t"he "milkshake" from a normal sized straw. It was not thick. It had the consistency of just milk with chocolate. I had ordered the Triple shake. It had a dab of whipped cream and a smaller amount of chocolate, butterscotch, and white chocolate chips on top. This was definitely not a food combo. As for the amount, this was the first time I've never received the leftovers in the tin can.
Hopefully, this was just a bad day since they seemed short-handed. Maybe I'll get another chance to give a higher recommendation.
We ordered two breakfast dishes, which were decent but nothing extraordinary for a typical diner. Unfortunately, our server was unreasonably rude from the moment we were seated by the window. Her unpleasant attitude was noticeable right away. When I asked if she was okay, her behavior improved slightly, but we were still puzzled by her hostility from the start.
Came in here on a hungry Monday. The staff recommended “steak and eggs” over “chicken and waffle”. Steak and eggs were so good that I had to order chicken and waffle too.
Several staffs greeted me. Had my coffee filled multiple times while I worked on my laptop. Beautiful day, left the diner happy.
Amphora's Diner Deluxe provides exactly what I want in a diner.
It's got really tasty food, lots of seating, convenient parking and good service.
The service isn't that quick, but I don't want to feel pushed out of the restaurant, so I appreciated the level of service provided.
I've been several times and the food has never disappointed me.
I will definitely return!
Good diner with extensive menu
Sandwiches and veggie options are good. Family friendly setup
Visited again and was disappointed. Service was very slow. It took almost 40 minutes to get our order.
Food was below average tasting. Way below average Ratatouille. I was told by server that it is really good but it was disappointing.
Overall not impressed at all.
First time here and I must say the food was delicious. I settled for the French toast and eggs with bacon and orange juice. Service was wonderful, I will be back so much so is on the menu I wanna try it all
Found by searching for "diner near me" after dropping off a family member at the Dulles Airport. Place was quiet but filled up while we were dining there. Plenty of people filing in to meet others, which is always a good sign.
Food was excellent. I had a meat lover's omelette, another family member had the buffalo chicken omelette, and we also put in an order of kids pancakes.
Service was top notch. Carlos checked in with us frequently, and had a lot of tables going simultaneously. We didn't feel rushed at all.
Would definitely dine here again.
First timer here. Was bouncing back and forth between pancakes, French toast and chicken and waffles. Opted to try the chicken and waffles and regretted it. The chicken though juicy had absolutely no flavor at all. The waffles didn't seem to be made fresh in house and were cardboard again no flavor. I may be back because the pancakes looks great but as for the chicken and waffles it's a big NO! Service only got 4 stars because our waiter only came around twice and he messed up my partners order probably because he didn't write anything down which would've been impressive if the order was correct.
