Best WLM Reviews

Decent place for Indian food. For appetizers got the following -
Gobi Manchurian - Very crispy and tasty
Fish fry - good quantity but the coating for the fry hardly had any taste, expected more taste
Pani Puri and Dahi Puri - both were average and good
For the mains got
Bisebalebath - It was just sambar and rice, didn't get the original taste. Decent taste though.
Chicken Biryani - The saalna with this Biryani was great, loved it. Good enough quantity for 2.
Overall a decent stop, spacious place, reasonable pricing.
My review for this restaurant is based on what I ordered:
1. Ven Pongal
2. Veg Meals (Thali)
3. Gobi Manchurian
4. Rava Dosa
5. Rava Masala Dosa
6. Idiyappam
The food was good. Atmosphere is nothing extraordinary but decent. Service is good. I would recommend this restaurant.
I visited this place twice till now and my experience has been good ???? The food is great and the ambience is also better. I took Veg meals once and I loved everything they served in my plate and the taste is authentic as well. My husband took Mutton kurma and kaal dosa… and he loved it as well. Over all a good place to have homely food.
I have eaten in a number of very fine Indian restaurants in New York City and I have never enjoyed the food as much as I did at Amma's.
The very attentive waiter Prisco directed my friend and me with certain choices based on our preferences and he was spot on. We both had different vegetarian and chicken masala dishes, and next time we intend to explore further dimensions of this wonderful cuisine. But for starters, what we ordered was just perfect. The atmosphere is casual, pleasant and very inviting. The food is the genuine article.
What a great find! I am not one to usually seek out a dosa place or go searching for Indian food when eating out with my parents, I actually rarely go for dosas, but this place was a genuine and exciting surprise. The staff was very friendly, warm, and welcoming- very attentive. We ordered the Papdi Chat, Dahi Poori, Masala Sosa and Amma's Special Dosa with onions, cheese, and chili filling
The food was excellent; while driving by you could have easily missed this small place sorta smushed between bigger stores in this shopping complex, but we are glad we didn't. The food was authentic, excellently flavored, with what I think was the perfect amount of spice (which means for an Indian family it was enjoyable, we noted the spice and kick, needed a little rest and sips of our drinks, but it never overtook the meal; but if you dont handle or appreciate spicy foods, would ask them to try and tamper it ). The dosa was crisp and flaky, but the Samba and chutneys were the highlight for me - each bringing out very different notes and providing a specific and distinct flavor that jumped off your palate
It is rare to find a place you would call very very authentic while at the same time a place I would not hesitate to bring someone completely new to or perhaps unfamiliar with Indian cuisine; it is a perfect introduction and accurate representation
Definitely plan on returning often. I have after meal pics included in case you were unsure how much we enjoyed the food :)
Great place, Good atmosphere, Delicious and authentic food. The food in restaurant is as good as you get it in South India. Service is great and staff are friendly especially Vardhana made all of us feel at home. Perfect place if you are missing home food in NJ
We recently dined at Amma’s Kitchen, and the service we received from Avon was outstanding. Avon was incredibly attentive and friendly. He not only ensured that we had everything we needed but also made sure our children feel welcome and engaged. His warm demeanor and excellent service truly enhanced our dining experience.
We ordered the fish fry appetizer, and masala dosa and Tiffin combo for main course. Everything tasted fantastic and was fresh. Spice level was well balanced. Definitely recommend this place.
