I have visited this place a couple of times before this visit.
For an eatery claiming to be South Indian, the key vada sambhar did not pass the test for me. The vadas were dense even after being dunked in the sambhar and who does sliced raw onions on top? The chutney was too watery too.
The rawa masala dosa was slightly better but they served the mashed potato masala on the side. The tamarind rice was a very welcome and comforting option while their spinach onion pakoras slowly improved the mood a bit.
They have a good thali and their filter coffee is pretty good but pricier than Starbucks!
My wife and I stopped by while traveling. We loved the atmosphere and decor in the shop. I decided to get the dosa sampler plate and my wife got a potato dosa.
The chai at the end of my sampler was an amazing addition to the meal.
The staff was very kind and attentive for the entirety of our meal.
An accidental find on a Philly Trip. Authentic South Indian cuisine, had an amazing tiffin combo and Rasam was a delight. Service was slow, it took them 15 mins to get the check and had to wait for filter coffee which was suppose to come with meal. Also coffee served was not hot. Service can improve, located perfectly in city center , if you love South Indian food, you can definitely give it a try !!
We had a delicious dinner here in downtown Philly. The flavors were spot on. I had the Tikka masala and parotta flatbread. I also had iced masala chai that was also delish. It was a quick walk from the W. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town.
Our server Krisha was absolutely fantastic. The staff were all super sweet and the food is so wonderfully delicious. It's truly a gem, especially in an area so dominated by fast food chains. It's a little pricey but they have combo platters and it's worth every penny
I've been here twice and both times were hits. Masala dosa one day and the weekend special (pictured) on another day. Both meals were delicious and filling. Avon took great care of us. Love Amma's...
We stopped by on Saturday to grab some dinner and overall had a grbiriani.
The chilli chicken was a bit too crunchy for my preference, but I enjoyed the taste of it. My family loved their dosas and my brother also enjoyed his chicken biriyani.
Wait times weren't bad at all despite how crowded the restaurant was, and our server was super friendly. Wouldn't mind stopping by again!
Amazing service by Mansi C and incredible food. Thali is a great way to sample multiple dishes and pick your favorites. I would call this genuine and traditional Indian fare. We'll definitely be back.
