First time at this location. Much bigger venue than any of the other locations i have been to. Big open space with plenty of seating options to choose from. Of course, they have their well-known quirky decor all over. We arrived around 10:30 am. on a Sunday and didn't officially sit down to down our coffee and food until about 11:20am. There was a huge line, and they had run out of a bunch of pastries and flavors of macaroons by the time we got to the front. Ordered a vanilla latte with a breakfast wrap. $20 for two items, which was thought of was very overpriced. The coffee was delicious, but i would not spend $10 on the breakfast wrap. Very bland, the potatoes were cut up in really BIG chunks, and they were cold, so they were very hard to chew. Overall, the wrap was cold and not flavorful at all. Other than that, all the employees were friendly and efficient. The ambiance was great and quiet for a Sunday coffee run. It is located in uptown, and there is a parking deck located right beside the establishment.
It's quite an experience to go to Amelie's. First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. The restaurant is quite literally filled with decorations that reflect the French culture like a partial Eiffel Tower, Napoleon portraits, macaroons hanging from the ceiling, a Mona Lisa painting, etc. The seating is very unique. We sat around a table with a lighted tree in the middle. There is so much art on the walls that it is like being in the Louvre. The food was delicious, fresh, and flavorful.
I went her for a nice warm drink and something to satisfy my sweet tooth after brunch in the area, and this place did not disappoint. You are asked to scan the QR code outside the door for the menu and the drink that I wanted was apparently a seasonal beverage, but the lady was so kind to make it for me anyway and it definitely hit the spot. The shop is so nice and cute with the way it is decorated. Definitely will be back
Checked out this famous French bakery in Charlotte everyone's been talking about. The place has this quirky, unique vibe with tons of seating and even space for group parties.
We went for the croissant, Key Lime Tart, and another Tart (can't remember the other tart we got, oops), and the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit. Pretty typical French bakery stuff - a bit rich and sweet.
Honestly, the food was good, but the real star was the atmosphere. There's so much to look at while you're eating, it's like a mini adventure. Definitely what sets this place apart.
Solid spot for breakfast - we left happy and full!
Good and bad. Coffee was too sweet and tasted artificial. Food was cold. The french dip sandwich barely had roasted beef. French toasts were cold too. The place is really cool gave me Alice in wonderland vibes. Service was good but they got my name wrong for the order. For me it’s was a one time thing.
Amélie's is a fun place to have a quick meal, pastry or coffee. The atmosphere is immersive down to the French music being played. The soup and salad I had were not exceptional, but definitely good enough. The pastry I had was excellent.
I have been to every Amelie’s location; every location is unique and has their own characteristic trait that makes it special. But I definitely love the chandeliers in the uptown location.
I think I have tried almost every dessert they have to offer; each one has never disappointed me. This trip I tried the key lime tart. I’m not sure if the tart was a day old or so but it just didn’t taste fresh. It did have that classic Keylime flavor. I also had a turkey sandwich on sourdough bread with spinach. It satisfied my hunger after walking uptown most of the afternoon.
Customer service is always great. Employees are always very friendly.
Quick drop in at the end of the day. I think it’s best to show up early and get fresh baked goods. The pistachio coconut latte was unique. My brioche cinnamon bun was dry. Again most likely due to being close to closing time.
