We were in town camping at the State Park and visiting family. Wanted a place on the water to get some lunch. We found Amigos Mexican restaurant on the water! We are excited about that and the reviews were good so we gave it a try. From the outside it looks good but once you walk in the door you can tell this place needs a DEEP cleaning. We decided to give it a try…we should have trusted our first impression. We were seated out by the lane with a great view of the lake. That said the place was filthy. Our waitress was pretty good and she was very attentive. We ordered off the lunch menu. My wife ordered lunch #7 with a tamale, flauta and a chimichanga. I got Lola’s Tapito. Wife started to eat her flauta and there was a pretty good size piece of plastic in it! ???? we told the waitress she was kind and wife ordered a couple soft tacos instead, which she didn’t eat all of them. Needless to say she didn’t have much of an appetite after that. Also ordered a frozen margarita no salt only to have our waitress come back and tell her the machine that makes them was broken and brought a regular one with salt! Chips…okay they are tortilla chips but the first bowl we received must have been the bottom of the bag as the chips were mostly crumbs! Now all of that to say we had a bad experience and while we’re just passing through probably won’t come back if we’re in the area again. I do give our waitress credit she didn’t charge us for my wife’s meal at all. I’m sure during the summer this place is rocking, maybe if it slacks off during the winter months some cleaning would be in the agenda.
Who knew this great Mexican restaurant got a face lift this year? The updates with new paint , new restaurant logo, and others make it even better.
So many friends, families, and dates have been at this restaurant after a day on the river or just because it's the perfect setting for a great meal with the view of the Iskand Cove marine.
You will see the lake water, boats coming and going with lots of happy faces.
I got the cheese Enchiladas with rice and beans as usual, but the tamales and chicken tacos or #7 lunch special were delicious as well. I also had the mandarin jarritos to drink, which is straight from Mexico with cane sugar to drink.
It is always a pleasure seeing this place and having a great meal.
Would i recommend this restaurant? Absolutely

Pretty good place for some food. It’s located right on the lake and has plenty of dock parking for boats. Food is always good and service is fast. Mexican chicken tacos and fajitas are always pretty good. Recommend checking it out

Missing queso side & his burrito deluxe was missing beans. My pollo picoso was basically all/only onions & seasoned oddly.
The guacamole was half done. No flavor to the salsa, it was just spicy. Chips stale. This was the night of Friday, November 22nd. I'll drive the extra 15 minutes to somewhere else.
We decided to grab some Mexican food last Sunday. We chose Amigos at Island Cove Marina because we haven't been in about 1 year and wanted to see if it had improved. The food was exceptional, the beer was cold, and Josh, our server, did a great job. We sat outside on the deck and enjoyed our meal with a great view of Chickamauga Lake. Everything was great and much improved from our last visit. Would definitely recommend it, and we will be returning soon!

If you are looking for an easy and good lunch while boating, this is a perfect place. There is a good amount of parking for boats, and the restaurant was not as crowded as we expected. Our party of 6 came on July 4 around 2:30 and we had no wait and there was plenty of dock space for our boat. I am not a huge Mexican food fan, but my party loves the food here. Chips and salsa were a perfect starter, and our servers were very kind. Will return and Highly recommend.
It looked OK when we first walked in but then noticed that there wasn't a lot of people and the Majority of them was there to drink we where there to eat but we didn't mind anyone there so that was OK well I talk to one waiter he was supposed of answer a question for me which meant for him to go ask someone him self well then all of a sudden we have a Waitress it was shift changed so guess what my first waiter never came back with a answer well anyways ordered the food didn't take long at all which seemed really fast and we had ordered shrimp steak and chicken so it all seemed some what off putting go to take a bite and it was like cutting through rubber and I had the chicken. Really wish and hope this may help and not make anyone mad but I would love to go back if the food wash fresher cause the location is to die for I mean right on the river side with a nice view so I hope this is a lesson learned and no feelings hurt thanks And P.S the Salsa and chip where amazing
