Rooms are under construction, and they are still trying to rent them out. And rent them with many flaws, danger issues, incomplete constructions, and plaster dust everywhere. Used gum on window shade, black mold, giant holes under bathroom sink, front doors that don't lock, pubic hair on the sheets, stains and burns on the comforters.
However, this is a great location for walking to all Helen, Activities.
The staff is friendly. The breakfast is wonderful. They have a new waffle maker. The staff is very accommodating to all our requests. We had to check 5 rooms before we found one passable and safe to sleep in.
CALL DIRECT. Expedia tried to put us in another hotel based on some mythical "overbooking" issue. Called direct, got a better rate (195 for Sun/Mon/Tues) and the room was OK. The linens were clean, the AC worked fine, the water was very hot. Staff was nice about giving us extra towels and a couple extra pillows. (we promised we wouldn't steal them ???? )
An easy walk to everything. We would stay here again.
The staff were NICE. Although, I booked my room and dropped my stuff off to enjoy this beautiful town. When I got back to the room I noticed there where dirty towels in the room. I disregarded it because of how late it was and how cold it was. But when I went to pull the sheets back to get into bed the sheets were dirty. Very noticeable.
We checked in and continued shopping. When we got to our room we found it was apauling. I bumped something on the side of the bed and lifted the bedskirt to view a stained, nasty box spring, the pillow was torn with dirty stains. I didn't expect the Ritz but did expect to feel comfortable. It was a dump. I wouldn't rent that room for a dog. The lady at the desk was very nice. We went elsewhere to stay. That was $80 wasted. Not what you would expect at a tourist location, or anywhere else.
I stayed here with a friend back in February 2024. It is convenient to the places we wanted to go to. I made another reservation for September 27-29 back in March. My birthday is the 30th and turning 50, kinda a big deal. My boyfriend and I wanted to come to October fest with a group of friends. The rates were not jacked up like they do the closer you get to October fest. I got an email back in August that said the hotel was permanently closed and my reservation was canceled. I had to try and figure out new plans for my birthday. Needless to say, I am disappointed that the hotel did this. The hotel seems to be open if you can make a reservation now for $300 a night, when my reservation was for way less than $200 for 2 nights!
This place is great! Is it the Ritz? Nope. It's a super inexpensive 2 star hotel. The staff is friendly. The rooms are clean. They have free breakfast in the morning. Super freezing ac. Hot showers with great water pressure. Fabulous location right on the main drag. And a pretty View from my comfortable bed. The whole weekend stay cost less than what a grocery bill would cost these days. Will definitely stay again.
We stayed in room 108 with a king, the bed was hard as a rock. We left 2 days early, never got a good night's sleep. We were downstairs and could hear every step of the people in above room. The bath had mildew on the curtain and the tile floors grout was nasty. The ceiling in the room showed it had had a leak in the past. As for the breakfast area it's a joke a little table in the very small lobby. The pictures in the site are taken at angles to be deceptive. If you have a choice stay somewhere else.
Room was great price. Bed was great very comfy . Room was very clean. Only one complaint could not turn shower off other than that will definitely recommend to all. Close to everything. Manager was very helpful. Very enjoyable stay
