I have had my birthday here for two years and had an amazing experience each time! For my 21st birthday in October of 2023, a wonderful girl named Sam helped make my day extra special! She noticed it was my 21st birthday and when my friends and I were at the casino, I came up to the room and my room was decorated! I got an awesome cake, a sweet card and some dice! She was super nice and did not have to do any of that! The room was clean, the food at the bakery was amazing!
For my 22nd birthday in October of 2024, we had an amazing experience again. When I first got to my nonsmoking room, there was definitely someone smoking in there before. I told them and they switched me rooms, no problem! They decorated my room again, got my friend and I some soda, a cake and a nice card once again. The security by the casino were super cool! The staff always goes above and beyond! And once again, the bakery was excellent! We were sad that the pool was closed this time around for the season, even though it was open last year. Everything else was spot on!!
Nice rooms & hotel. Kind of expensive, though. Coffee shop had great coffee.
Asia restaurant had terrific service and good food.
Casino slots are SUPER tight!! Had much better play time in Vegas and even Sam’s Town in Mississippi.
A very attractive casino and convenient to get in and out of. I have to admit I didn't have a single interaction during the visit with staff. Not a greeting, not a thank you, not even a good-bye. It was not a bad experience but the lack of interaction also didn't make it "fun". I'm in the area for a while more, I may give it another try just to see if it was the time of day or day of the week. And hey maybe next time I'll hit that big one ????
The room was nice but of course down stairs it smelled of cigarette (nasty). Very few restaurants open Sunday night. And we had to wait till 7 am to get coffee if we didn't make it in the room. And no breakfast places. It was kind of a pain to get there.
I traveled for my sister's wedding and their venue was beautiful. I got ready in my mother's hotel room which was very spacious and accommodating. The ceremony was in a quiet and clean outdoor space where you wouldn't even know it was in a casino. The venue and party space was in a large ballroom that had plenty of room. Their food was buffet style with options and the taste was very flavorful. The staff was attentive and kind.
First time visiting. Had a company hosted Christmas party at the RYSE Nightclub. Probably the largest and most exquisite party I've ever attended. But that's just the party, the rooms were quite nice and I had a great view overlooking westward Saint Charles. Only downsides, no microwave, bring your own for extended stays if you're wanting to reheat food, unless they had it hidden somewhere, almost didn't find the fridge. And we didn't get a chance to check out the arcade or the spa or even any of the restaurants as we stayed just one night.
Ameristar has been amazing for so long because of happy staff. The local feel coupled with top notch facility gives the experience to the guests. If they keep that up they will always be an industry leader. You feel fancy walking in and happy when you have people that want to be there.
I hadn't been to the casino in a couple of years. I am not sure what is going on there, but it felt really run down. The escalators were closed off, and you had to take their nasty, grungy elevators to the second level. Maybe they are in the process of updating the place. Bright side: I won enough to pay for my dinner earlier that evening.
