great thanksgiving day buffet. tons of selections and good quality. no ceasar salad or prime rib or ice cream. self parking excellent and lots of open slots. Still very smoky inside. Nice day overall for a holiday meal and cheap slots to keep busy
Booked two rooms. My room smelled of smoke. Fire detector was ripped off the wall and I found it in a bag in the closet. Room was not clean and no soap products in the bathroom. Demanded another room. The new room smelled fine but was still not clean and no soap products. The 2nd room I booked for my parents was dirty and also no soap. We both asked to have soap brought up to the room. They received theirs I did not. Got tired of asking so bought a $5 bar of soap at the Circle K across the street. Went to shower in the morning and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty. This was definitely not worth $260 a night for each room. I told the desk clerk when we checked out and she apologized and said one of the rooms would be refunded as I paid for these back on Nov 10 when I booked. Went to look at my credit statement and saw that instead of getting a refund I was charged again for a room. I have tried to call the hotel but get no answer. I have emailed the hotel and have not gotten an answer. Beyond frustrated so I am reporting the charges as fraud with my credit card company.
I stopped here to charge my car and wanted to get a quick snack and maybe a light beer. It took me about 15 minutes to find the one and only bar and even after sitting there for 20 minutes, nobody showed up to take the order!. The only thing I succeeded in was charging the car.
We stayed in the Ameristar RV. Park. It was inexpensive and a good stopping point on our way to Texas. You have to drive to the casino, there is no shuttle and it really isn’t close enough to walk. The casino is very smokey, which most are, you just have to expect that if you want to go in. They had a pretty good selection of slots upstairs, mostly old machines downstairs. There are a lot of tables, but only a few were open. I play 3 card poker, and they did not offer that. The biggest problem was that there was not a bartender. There were two waitresses covering the entire casino, including making drinks. And while we were there one of them went on break, so there was only one for the entire casino. That was ridiculous. She told me the bartender quit a while ago. Not sure why they wouldn’t hire another one. Very very poor service here. I would not mind getting my own drinks, but there was no bar to go to.
Ameristar RV Park Vicksburg. Excellent location. Young man picking up trash wonderful. This park doesn’t have Wifi or cable. It is tired and needs tending to. Also contacting someone takes a big effort on your own part. Our site 57 had a huge ant pile right at the water hookup. A lot of broken equipment and hookups not working throughout the park. Make sure you test before settling in. Well lit at night. Easy access. Quiet. Ideal location. The Casino seemed to be tired looking too. Hoping both are given the attention needed. We would like to stay here again.
This was not a hotel stay but an RV spay. The first issue was there was no one on grounds for assistance and it was extremely difficult to connect with a person for help. Nice clean park but issues with backed up sewage and the 50 amp electric was not working at full capacity. Again no one answering the phone, no voice mail or messages being passed on to anyone for help. Potential to be a better park after issues are remedied.
We came here on a Thursday evening to spend a little bit of money and see the local crowd. it was a regular casino. They have a soft drink station where you can help yourself. There were a few waitresses floating around, but I only saw them at the table games, not slots.
Ms Catrina & Stephanie are the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a penn play Hotel and Casino. Bryan Curtis is the absolute most efficient Best Host at any Casino from here to Vegas!! This property is a must visit
