Best WLM Reviews

My wife and I spent three nights at Ameristar Kansas City the first of May, 2024. Our stay was very enjoyable. Beginning with our check-in which was fast and the young lady at the desk was helpful, making sure that everything was in order. Our room was clean, not even any dust in corners, and stocked with bottled water, towels, soaps, etc. The shower was spotless and was easy to adjust. When we needed more of any of the above we simply notified the front desk and within 10 minutes it was delivered to the room by housekeeping. As far as the safety checks that are made on guests after two days, there was notification of this posted in the room, but we never experienced it as we didn't stay in the room during the day. We had meals at Amerisports, Big Tony's Pizza, Sugo, The Burger Joint, and Willy and Jose's. The food from each tasted good, but nothing exceptional. None of the places have a very extensive menu, pretty much basic items. The pastries at Sugo were very good. We visited Club 38 daily with it being clean, relaxing, and having service provided by friendly and outgoing bartenders. Throughout our stay we encountered nothing but friendly and helpful staff. As far as the actual casino experience, it was what a person pretty much should expect from a large casino. If you win it's great...if you lose it's terrible. My wife had good luck and I didn't, so I considered it all as having worked out okay. We had a good time, which was the main objective of the visit.
All the good restaurants are closed Monday - Tuesday.
My room smelled like my aunt Pearl who smoked a pack a day and sprayed on way too much perfume.
The bed sheets felt like I was sleeping on sandpaper.
The TV remote worked for 1 night and quit.
Parking sucks if you want to walk into the hotel section.
Staff was friendly.
The casino area is pretty nice and updated. Cool scenery.
The staff here was amazing. My wife and I went on our honeymoon and they were so nice. Offered us a special "honeymoon" bonus for choosing to stay with them. The gambling floor staff showed us around and told us the ins and outs of everything. 10/10 we will be going back again. Thank you so much.
I must mention that almost all of the staff here is amazing and the 1 star is for the sake of a couple really bad employees. I’ve been coming to this casino for over 20 years and have never encountered anything like this. |||| The hotel manager Keisha if i recall correctly, is probably the rudest person I’ve ever encountered in all my stays at hundreds of casino hotels throughout the past 30 years. She must have a superiority complex of some sort because she has no regard for her employees and the guest. Communicating in an intimidating and demeaning manner toward her staff in front of guest was appalling. When confronted by my wife who was standing with our children she said. “Well if you don’t like it, you don’t have to stay here. It’s your choice ain’t nobody forcing you to be here. This comes after trying to get an issue and mistake fixed that was the fault of the hotel and the systems not working properly. |||| We checked out immediately and when asking to make a complaint she had called security who asked us if we can do that from outside and that it can be done online. You need to leave the premise or we will have sheriffs come here to evict you. Security was nice and polite but didn’t have anything to say about the situation and just said I’m only doing what I was told.
I enjoyed every moment! Ms. Daisy and Ms. Debra were so great helping check in and check out. The room was clean upon arrival, no smells or stains. The casino is nice as well. We will be returning, thank you for the superb hospitality.
Food selection of slots and table games. If you are sensitive to smoke, stay away. We are from Illinois and smoking has been illegal for years, this place smells terribly if you are sensitive to smoke. As far as casino goes, good selection of games, a lot of table games and dealers ready to go. Also has a few different restaurants with decent food. The smell of smoke though, is a huge turn off.
They charge a resort fee but then don't offer any room service. The drain in my room didn't work, the shower was dirty and there was a Balloon left in my room from previous guest which is a huge deal because I'm deathly allergic to latex
Facebook says they have electric car charging stations which they do not.
Not worth the money definitely regretting booking here. Staff was short with us check in lady didn't even go over same items the last next to us did just said you heard her right. Rude and just an unwelcoming atmosphere
Had to edit my rating as the hotel has gone seriously down hill. A colleague left a package at the front desk for me a few nights ago and the three ladies working the front desk had no idea what to do or where to look. They didn't bother to check with a manager or anyone more competent. Can't imagine the embarrassment I would feel if I was an ops manager at a place like this with these three behind the desk.
