Best WLM Reviews

The Ameristar Casino Resort in Black Hawk is a nice hotel with a good-sized casino, relatively few dining options and a stunning rooftop pool sitting 35 stories above the mountain town. ||An efficient front desk system got us up to our room a little before the published check-in time. Our basic accommodations were clean and had an upscale feel despite some evidence of wear. We were pleasantly surprised by the relative quiet despite our location near the elevators. ||Most Ameristar guests are there to try their luck at the two floors of gaming activity, as there is little else to do. Dining options during the week are restricted to the Timberline steakhouse and a restaurant that reminded us of a small Applebees. On weekends, a pricey all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide selection is open after 4 pm on Friday and Saturday, and during brunch hours on Sunday. The food is good, but not remarkable, and prior guests lament that the buffet has increased in price, but dramatically limited its hours of availability. ||First-time guests should visit the pool deck just for the experience. The view is a blend of pure Colorado mountains with a dash of glitz. ||Perhaps the most striking aspect of our visit was the graciousness of our fellow guests. Throughout our stay, we were blessed with both friendly people and a distinct lack of rowdy patrons. Any venue that can boast a clean environment with a friendly crowd has the potential to be a good choice for a brief getaway.
Love this place for craps.
However my husband and friends love it for slots- there's a good selection from video poker to older style to newer electronic ones. Have seen several people win jackpots. It's clean and Pleasant layout and surroundings.
Dealers are professional, friendly and courteous.
Rooms are nice and clean.
There's several selections for food with many delicious options.
Parking is ample...
really just a nice casino.
Gambling was great. Waitresses on casino floor were very attentive. Valet was quick and courteous. ROOM: Needs renovation badly. Decor and furniture were TIRED with mold in the shower and old oak furnishings that were worn and outdated. No robes, drip coffee pot was sitting on a low shelf inside the dresser. Had a motel feel to it. The Fireside restaurant food was dried out and lukewarm when it reached our table, tasted like fast food. The front desk did comp it for us. Players club desk attendants seemed annoyed to be there. Hotel overall does not have a customer centric vibe the way Monarch does. We will gamble here but won't stay overnight again - not close to being worth the price.
The property is pretty nice and casino is fine but beware….the slots here are EXTREMELY tight and rarely pay out. Walk the floor and take a look around before gambling. Horseshoe slots are way better
When we visit the Denver area, we enjoy coming here, as we can enjoy a nice room, up in the mountains (yes, a bit of a drive up and down but whats the point of being near the Rockies when you can be IN the Rockies), some gambling and the available food choices. I think the only challenge is food choices on premise can get a little pricey but there is good variety and others are a short walk away.
Spa customer service is amazing. They had to cancel a service for my wife and daughters as the provider had an emergency. They made it very right. Thank you April for ALL you did! They had an amazing experience. Five stars.
The Guest Services other than the spa were horrible. First when I called to see if they could put a little treat or acknowledgment of my wife’s birthday that we could see upping our arrival, I was told in the phone “uh, we don’t do that”. Then my daughter called down for more pillows and a 4th set of towels (we have our family of four in the room) the gentleman was downright nasty to her. So I called and he was nasty to me. The server in the fireside restaurant made sure to let everyone know how stressed she was.
Spa? Amazing! Guest services? Missed opportunities for them to create a great experience.
In bigger places like this it's sometimes hard to guarantee each employees courteous and competent. However, when I expressed my concerns to Walter the manager, he was so receptive and kind and did everything he could to assure we left happy still. Very glad he is in the position he is in because when the right people come along he is going to lead them and the establishment in a beautiful path
Got there and took 45 minutes to check in and then they olny have 1 elevator of 6 working so it took 19 minutes to wait for an elevator to get to our room. We quickly changed and then the elevator took 30 mins down. Worst hotel in Colorado. They don’t care here at all. $200 to stay here and left after an hour and went across the street to Monarch
