A great place to stay in black hawk!
They could use a lot more bartenders and waitresses. They could also add better food options. I don’t recommend bringing your kids.
Also our bathroom shower was a little gross but our room was great.
If you’re coming to stay up all night, this is a great hotel. If you actually want to sleep, would not recommend. The walls are paper thin. People in the next rooms or hallway were having normal conversations and we could hear every word. At 8 am, housekeeping started knocking on every door and yelling out housekeeping. You could hear it echo down the hallway. The check in process had huge delays, plan for an hour! This hotel is probably cutting corners on staffing and the level of service shows. Hope management does better. The rooftop pool and outdoor hot tub were very nice, best part of the stay. Parking was easy and free.
Everyone in our group of four greatly enjoyed our visit. The ambiance was outstanding, service top-notch, and the perks excellent and completely unanticipated. The rooms are a bit dated and a bit worn but well-appointed and very comfortable. Bottom line: we will definitely return at some point in the future.
So I'm reviewing this place off of my own experience at a casino I work at in Mississippi. The service here is pretty awesome and the fireside kitchen is well priced for the amazing food they serve. I may have lost a grand but that's just how gambling goes. Every time I interacted with the staff was always friendly and pleasant. My fiance and I are definitely looking forward to staying here again.
Do NOT book a room near the elevators. At 2:45 in the morning (after nearly an hour of trying to fall asleep) the hallway music was ridiculously loud, and I was told by the service desk that IT controls the volume - but they were unavailable for the night. Even the staff admitted the music was too loud. While they offered to move me to another room, they expected me to come all the way downstairs to get new keys. Instead, I decided to just drive home.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the thermostat in the room appeared to be broken. I was here with a group of 36 for a holiday party and, as a lifetime Platinum Elite member with Marriott, I’ve come to expect a certain level of customer service. This place offers none. Truly disappointing behavior by guest services.
Also, in this day and age, how does a hotel not offer Netflix in its rooms?
I’m writing this review as of 4:30 a.m. after an hour-long drive home because I couldn’t bear to stay another minute in this hotel.
John and Jess at the Hotel Front Desk were super helpful and kind. I really appreciate Johns assistance with check in and answering all my questions. Jess was extremely helpful with getting some additional amenities for our room. ||The Buffett had amazing food, the rooms are very comfortable, the bathtub in the room was amazing! Everything was super clean. ||Very excited for another visit in the future.
I’ve been staying at this hotel for about 5 years now and I never thought I would switch to lodge or monarch but after my last stay I’m fully convinced. I checked in and headed up to my room and wanted to get a quick shower in before hitting the tables and one step in the shower a glass shard goes into my right foot, it started bleeding quit a bit and I used the hotel towels to keep pressure on it, after awhile it slowed down and I felt very light headed and queasy from the situation. Now I know I should have reported this instantly after the situation occurred but I really wasn’t feeling great and didn’t want to call and complain as I was still very light headed from seeing all the blood. So I sent an email the day after and got zero response, from there I decided to call in and explain over the phone and I was told that if it wasn’t reported same time it occurred there can’t be anything done, I think that’s ridiculous and terrible hospitality, clearly the room wasn’t fully cleaned or it would of never happened, definitely ruined my look on the hotel and staff as they don’t care for your business. WATCH FOR GLASS SHARDS IN THE SHOWERS.
Sheets had someone else’s hair on them when we checked in. There was busted up concrete in the hallway of our room. We were there for 2 nights. I was offered 3 drinks by cocktail waitresses, only 2 of them actually came. I get it’s the weekend but they need to staff better for crowds. That’s been an issue the last several times we went.
