I spent a lot of time reading reviews of hotels before I chose one for this trip. Prices were either under $100 a night or up near $300, and I wanted the cheaper end of things. Most of the reviews were from people who stayed one night (we stayed seven nights) and also people seem to have extremely high expectations. I want someplace safe and clean and quiet, and this AmericInn fit the bill. ||It was in a cluster of other hotels, so it was both safe and quiet (despite being right off the highway). The room was spacious and I felt like the hotel in general was particularly clean. We had a slight problem with our key but it was fixed immediately. The hotel and hot tub were nicely kept. The lobby had automatic doors, which I really appreciated - a lot of cheaper hotels, you have to hold the door open yourself with luggage and all. Everything worked fine in our room, bed was comfortable. It was a good value for money and we enjoyed using it as a base for our Sioux Falls trip.
This hotel was fine for us to stay for one night while passing through Sioux Falls. Nice size king room. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom needs a little help. Breakfast was pretty typical. It felt like kind of a weird location but was close to a lot. Staff wasn't overly friendly.
We chose the hotel because of the great room rates. And thought we would give it a try for the weekend. And we were very happy with or choice, rooms were very clean beds were comfy, bathrooms are spotless. Looks like they have done a lot of updates to the place. Hot tub was hot and not a overwhelming smell of chlorine like a couple of other places we have stayed near by. Only small complaints are not much for vending machines but it did look like they are still remodeling those areas which is not a big deal. We visit Souix Falls very often and stay at multiple places. This place saved us least $140 over other places and was just as nice. We will be staying here every time for now on.
They have nice black out curtains which is nicer than the other place we stayed at. The room smelled like it had been a smoking room at one point. Breakfast was adequate. Cold but maybe due to the fact that everyone was there taking food at 6:30 and the covers didn't get shut.
My jacuzzi suite was awesome. Clean, quiet and check in was quick and easy. Reasonable rates. I will defiantly stay there again in the future.
Positive: Pretty good customer service for sure, friendly and accommodating. I was impressed with the very good attitude of the staff Negative: The shower curtain stunk real bad. Comforter smelled a little funky. Someone else?s food was left in the fridge.
Friendly staff. Room in disrepair. Broken tiles, damaged carpet, broken cabinets. The jets in the jacuzzi were broken. The fan above the jacuzzi was broken. Front desk said they can flip a breaker to make them work. Imo the room should be customer ready at check in. If the breaker tripped, it’ll likely trip again and I don’t want to have to find staff every time we want to use it during our stay. The AC made awful squeaking noises almost constantly. The TV wasn’t connected to cable or the internet, so it wanted me to use my sign in to use their service. They didn’t provide the WiFi details up front so even IF the tv could connect to internet I can’t use it unless I use my own personal hot spot. All in all it was a mess. I spent over an hour trying to remedy the list of problems and eventually decided to not stay there. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are in an emergency and there are no other options.
We stayed for 4 nights and watched the staff work hard to make our stay (as well as those who came) a great experience! The breakfast each morning was more than the usual cereal & muffins at some. Scrambled eggs, sausage Biscuits and Gravy PLUS started our day. Enjoyed pool and hot tub as well. We enjoyed our stay!
