Best WLM Reviews
What a great stay! The staff was super friendly. It was easy to get in and out of, road and traffic wise. It was immaculately clean and the bed was comfy. The pool area was big and clean, chlorine smell, but it's a pool. The water pressure and temp in the shower was perfect. Very nice hotel.
Great hotel... very clean and maintained. Comfortable bed with soft bedding and fluffy pillows... room was spacious. Loveseat was an added feature. Grounds were well maintained. Easy Interstate access. Staff were courteous and friendly.
I will start by saying that the staff, although I believe they were the owners, were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well kept. Maybe a touch dated, but still comfortable! Breakfast was ample and filling, albeit simple. I would stay here again and recommend it to any friends, family, or fellow truck drivers. There is also a Flying J and a Dennys right across the road. My reason for the low score on location is that I am a truck driver and the reason for my stay was because of a breakdown. So I had no vehicle and there was nothing else nearby. Other than that, it is right off I-40 with easy on/off access.
DO NOT GIVE THIS HOTEL YOUR BUSINESS!!!!
We booked this hotel while we (family of 4) were on the road from Tulsa. Unfortunately, as we approached OKC, our wheel bearing on our trailer started smoking. We had to stop on the side of the road and wait to get it fixed. As we realized we were not going to make it to Elk City, we requested a refund. I was told that the hotel manager has full control to make an exception to the refund policy. They decided to DENY OUR REQUEST!!!! It is Christmas season and they were ok with taking our $105 knowing that we wouldn’t make it to Elk City tonight. My review is valid because THEY TOOK MY MONEY. I own my own business and can’t imagine running my business in this fashion. This is theft and completely heartless. That money could go to fixing our trailer OR getting another hotel room for my family and I. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
Checked in fine at the front desk. I then checked my room for signs of bed bugs (I may be paranoid, but I do it everywhere I stay). I found some signs that could have indicated bed bugs, and showed a picture to the front desk. To be perfectly clear, I am not certain there were bed bugs, nor did I look for them because the rooms seemed especially dirty or anything like that. They can show up anywhere, even if the hotel does everything right.
I was initially given a new room, then the man at the desk went with me to look at the room I had been in. He was unhappy with me for stripping the bed, and when I said I do it everywhere I stay, he said I could do it elsewhere, and told me to leave the establishment.
My impression is that the rooms themselves are good and clean enough for the price, if nothing to write home about. Can't recommend the service, though.
Edit based on some comments in the response: of course I stripped the bed, how else do you check a mattress for bugs? I obviously put everything back before I sleep on a bed, though, so it shouldn't impact the hotel staff one way or the other if I don't find anything. This time was an exception because I found something potentially concerning.
The hotel and room, itself, were clean. The lobby was beautifully done in lodge style, with a rock fireplace and peeled log banisters and rails for the stairs. Very comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was good, with pancakes, sausage, etc.
The negatives were the mattress literally felt like a "bunkie" mattress and was extremely uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff also reused shower products from a previous stay. I wasn't going to use the products for myself because I bring my own, but I collect the hotel supplies to give to a homeless ministry at home. I noticed one bottle was way lighter and realized it was a quarter full. Maybe the employee didn't notice because they were so busy and thought they were unused, or maybe it was intentional and they didn't care. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but it is still unprofessional.
We spent one night here during a cross country road trip. The location is very convenient on/off the highway. The hotel itself was very clean and safe, with a welcoming, western feel lobby. Our room was spacious and clean. The indoor pool was a bit chilly, but I went swimming anyway, and there is a hot tub to warm up in after.|I'd stay here again.
I am giving 3 starts based on personal preferences, I confess. This is a simple hotel in the middle of the road, so I didn't expect much, but for the price, a few things fell short. Starting with the positives, the hotel seems to be safe. It is quiet and the night staff was nice. Easy to park. The manager seems to be doing a good job, considering how outdated the hotel is. Wall painting is well maintained. The bathroom mirrors and the TV look new. There is a microwave and fridge in the room. The Dove toileteries are a nice touch, and the towels were clean without stains. The bed was fine, and the sheets were clean. As for the negatives, there is no elevator! Although I did not find pet hair, the room smelled musty, plus a combination of dog smell and cleaning products. The bathroom floor was sticky, probably an excess of cleaning products. If you are allergic like me, I would not stay here. I mean, it's a pet friendly hotel (which I didn't know), so it is not always possible to get rid of pet smell. I wish they would renovate the place a little more and change the old carpet and the old and irregular bed pillows.
