My family booked a room fairly last minute as our vacation plans took a quick turn and we needed to stay in Minnesota to help elderly family members in the area. We've had an emotionally tough year and a string of bad luck and when we got to the hotel, the room we booked online did not look like the room we were given. The staff promptly changed our room without question and made me feel like it was no problem at all. The care, concern and compassion for our circumstances continued through the 2.5 day stay and through all members of the staff. They were all so genuine and kind. We jokingly became the family with the bad luck, but the staff at this hotel did everything to sweep the bad luck under the rug and make things a little better. Two days after we had left our daughter realized she left her belt bag with money and quite a few personal belongings in the night stand in the room we stayed. A quick call and that belt bag, along with all it's contents were overnighted back to us. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms might need a tiny bit of updating, but the staff made the whole thing warm, comforting and a great place to stay. Thank you!
When we checked in - 9:45pm on a Friday night, the amount on the receipt was not the same as I booked it for. It was $150 more than I previously booked it. I booked a 2 queen bed room. When we walked into our room, we were met with 1 queen bed and a couch. I went to the front desk and told him it wasn’t what was booked. After about 15 minutes of phone calls, he put us in a smelly room that had clearly just been repainted. The only reason I gave this 2 stars vs 1 was because the lady at the front desk Sunday morning was pleasant to work with and she refunded us the $150 difference. I never leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to leave one. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends.
Positive: Amenities were great and lobby breakfast area was nice. Negative: For what we paid, it was not worth it. Thr carpet in the room felt damp. so kept my flip flops on. The bed is obviously old and was lumpy little support. Only thing that made it a suite was a couch and microwave. Whoopee! Parking lot was okay. Remodel!!!
One of the nicest AmericInn's I have stayed at as a frequent business and leisure traveler. The pool area, sauna, and the room were all clean. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. The flooring and furniture in the rooms needs some updating and it may be happening soon since the lobby is now being renovated.
This hotel was horrible!! The room smell was horrid! Used 1/2 can of Lysol and bought car vent air freshners and still smelled terrible. Assuming the filter in the HVAC was way past needing to be changed. The bed was terrible-absolutely no support left in the mattress. The carpeting was filthy!! The decor- very outdated!! The night front desk help was more interested in smoking out front than assisting customers. 3 nights and if there had been any other rooms available in town, we would have checked out and left! Never so glad to check out of a hotel and head back home to work!!
Very dirty ! Carpets needed to be vacuumed and shampooed. No towels when we checked in. Shampoo and conditioner bottles were only 1/2 full.
Breakfast wasn’t great.
Pool and pool area needs cleaning. Our granddaughters wouldn’t even swim in pool.
Was told they applied 10% discount but it wasn’t on my receipt that was emailed. Now I have to

We planned a 3 night stay but opted to come home a day early. We couldn’t find another place to stay

The room was a bargain but the room smell very musty. The toilet was very small as I am 6 feet and 250# made it hard to use. They need to upgrade to a newer taller toilet for us larger folks. The breakfast that was provided was sufficient with a variety of breakfast items.
Staff is friendly, knowledgeable & go the extra mile to help in anyway possible. Our group needed to change our length of stay last minute & we’re very accommodating. Breakfast had great selection! They’re in the process of remodeling & look forward to our next stay. Rare this 5stars
