This place was a joke, I wouldn’t recommend it too anyone, not only was it absolutely filthy and the couch had a piece of paper that said out of order written on it, and all the tvs were on when we walked in the room like someone was just in there.. but the guy working the night we stayed was completely unprofessional. He called my room at 2:30 am cussing at me bc we had a dog in the room. But we were never told we couldn’t have a dog and he kept saying I’m paying 480 dollars I’m paying 480 dollars!!! His voice was raised and yeah I didn’t like anything about it and the breakfast was really cold… I won’t ever go back again
Had a very comfortable stay here, I was so glad that they could accommodate us late in the evening on a Saturday night when the town had a large festival going on, we got the last couple of rooms and they were both very clean and spacious. The motel features a beautiful indoor pool and also had a nice breakfast spread. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area, the owners were generous and kind and the town of Grundy Center was a lot of fun to visit, they have some good restaurants and a great thrift store.
I co-managed a busy hotel in Seaside, OR at 19. I have worked for multiple hotels as a receptionist and housekeeper. At 39 with my years of experience I can confidently inform you that this place does a great job of making your stay a great one. Our room was very clean. The breakfast was timely and adequately stocked and I was impressed at the variety of offerings. Coffee was good.
The manager on duty, Alpesh, was patient and polite with my stupid question “Is your hot tub still out of order?” “We don’t have a hot tub ma’am.”
Had an easy an informative check in. Alpesh explained the breakfast hours before we even asked. Really appreciate the service and cleanliness of this hotel.
The location is great and convenient. We arrived after 8 pm and the Mexican restaurant right across the parking lot was open until 10 pm and there’s a Casey’s just down the road.
So there’s the pros. I have to discuss some cons and the reason for the 4 instead of a 5, part of this I share the blame in. Though our room was clean, our blanket was the scratchiest most uncomfortable blanket I’ve ever dealt with. It did not cover the bed (King). It was probably at most adequate for a Queen.
I did not ask the front desk for another blanket or communicate my dissatisfaction with our blanket so that’s my bad. I would recommend guests to bring their own blanket.
Due to the fact that there was no hot tub, I took a couple baths during my stay. The water took a long time to get hot during every bath and shower.
Other than those 2 items we loved our stay here. Thank you Alpesh!
We had two rooms. One was very clean and comfortable. The other had water damage under the window, smelled musty, and had some mold in the shower.
Good service. Clean room. Clean common areas. Mattress felt a bit worn and the hot tub was closed off
Needs a few updates but was clean. Breakfast was great.
Stayed at this hotel for a wedding. Booked the King suite with the jacuzzi tub. I was so disappointed to find out that it didn’t work and they even knew but wouldn’t do anything about it. I had to listen to the damn thing drip for 2 nights. When I asked the front desk person about a discount because if I had known it didn’t work I would not have paid the extra money for this since I booked specifically for this. The person working the front desk was not personable and said the manager was out of the country for a month and there was nothing he could do. The desk person also cleans the rooms each day and when he came to our room we were changing clothes for the wedding and we asked him to come back in 5 minutes, no one ever came back to clean our room that day. Then what I assume to be his daughter was running around while he was cleaning the rooms on the floor. The breakfast was horrible. I would rather sleep in my car than ever stay at this hotel again!
