My reservation was canceled by the hotel I was not informed and my account was charged for the room. The day my reservation was for...we showed up and was informed the reservation was cancelled. The lady at the counter took the confirmation number, looked it up and confirmed the credit card number for that reservation. She then recharged my card for another room without my permission. When I asked if thats what she just did.. I was told of course not you already paid. Gave me a receipt for $0.00. The next day when checking out I asked for my receipt which said 170. When I asked bout it the lady told me it was a deposit n i would never be charged. Well I was charged, called the hotel and after being transfer 4 times was told they are sorry for the inconvenience and don't do refunds. If I had a problem I can file a dispute with my bank.
While the rooms are simple, they are clean with a large window. The best part was the breakfast complete with pancakes, fresh homemade jam, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, healthier yogurt, and fruit. The cook was a fine lady who cared about the ingredients. The shuttle driver was exemplary. They made me feel at home. Plus, the adult pool hours are plenty generous.
We booked this hotel after our flight was diverted to Cedar Rapids unexpectedly and had to stay the night. The staff was so pleasant and helpful and really made our stay here enjoyable. The room was clean and had better amenities and shampoo options than our hotel from our actual vacation we were coming back from. The woman at the front desk who checked us in was so kind to recommend options for us to order food as we arrived pretty late. She also called their maintenance guy to give us a ride back to the airport at 4:30am the next morning which he did happily! He was so kind and took care of our bags for us the next day and asked questions to make sure everything in the room was functioning properly, clean, and up to great standards. It was then that he informed us he was the maintenance guy for the property, and the fact that he went out of his way to shuttle us to the airport was exceptional service. These people really went above and beyond for us. Even the breakfast station the next morning was awesome! They had a wide variety of hot food that was fresh, as well as fruits, juices, coffees, etc. If we ever end up in Cedar Rapids again, we will definitely be staying here! Thank you for the fabulous hospitality!!
If only more hotels observed adult swim hours!!! Pool area is adults only 10pm-12am. Breakfast was better than many others I've had at hotels. Staff was very friendly. Tucked kinda way outside of the main town, but it was a real gem to stumble upon while passing through the area. I wish more Americ Inns held these same standards.
Staff was awesome and check in and check out. Breakfast was an added bonus. Rooms were clean and comfy. Easy to get on and off interstate. Friendly. Close to gas stations and airport. No complaints and cannot thank them enough after a scary experience with an Airbnb.
The room smelled VERY musty and the sheets were pretty heavily starched. Check in felt pretty low end but the guy that handled my check in did a great job.
Overall this place gets away with charging higher prices because they are so near the airport.
Don't expect the experience to match the cost. Try one of the other hotels.
I ate the breakfast and on my walk to the car was over come with neasuea and threw up in the parking lot.
Won't be staying again.
A standout hotel in the middle of the city. I can't speak on the 3rd or 1st floors. I have been out of town for work 2 weeks now. Rooms have all been tidy, service is prompt and knowledgeable. And the highlight is the hot tolub of course. Also bonus points for blackout curtains. I would stay on vacation or passing through town anytime. Walking distance to food and drink as well.
We needed a place to stay after getting off of a late night flight. The check-in staff was very welcoming. We got a suite with a jacuzzi, which was great after a long day of travel. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic! What a great place to stay.
