Best WLM Reviews
This hotel was a health hazard, we could not stay for our reservation, it should have 0 stars. We booked this hotel last minute without researching and never again! We walked into the room and there was hundreds of cockroaches scattering all over the room and coming out of the room around our feet so instead of walking in we just closed the door and went back to the front desk. We asked for a different room, and the second room given to us was a NON-smoking room that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and the bedding and towels were stained. We also saw some used up needles when walking to this new room. The couch was ripped up so there was nowhere to sit or put our stuff down without risk of bugs crawling in. We again went to the front desk and this time asked for a refund because we were not going to stay there with the bug infestation. The man at the front desk stated he could not give us a refund and that we would have to call in the morning. We called in the morning and the number went to a voicemail that was not set up. We tried calling the hotel directly and the rude woman on the phone said she couldn’t find my reservation and that it doesn’t exist on her end, when I’ve already been charged for the 2 night stay! She told me to call again but it HAS to be before 12PM in order to speak to the manager. I’ve been given the runaround to get a refund for a room that was impossible to stay in due to their cockroach infestation and needles scattered around the premises. This inn is a safety concern.
I was homeless and had only $80 in cash to my name, walked miles with a backpack and suitcase to get to "America's Best Value Inn."
Having arrived at the dark office that had no lights on at around midnight or later, I informed the woman (who I could hardly see) up-front that $80 was all the money I had. I opted for a non-smoking room for one.
The "lady" took my $80 dollars on the counter without telling me how much she was going to charge me for the room that did not include even a bottle of water.
I was hoping for at least a few dollars in change so that I could maybe go to the 711 a block down the road to purchase a beverage given the fact that I was hot, sweaty, and dehydrated from my long, difficult walk.
$0 & a stupid, plastic room key that did not work was what she gave to me; so after lugging my bags to the outside of the room, I had to go back to the office window to request a new room key from the woman who had just taken all my money in the dark.
The room itself was not in great condition and there were a number of things in need of repair. The shower flooded the bathroom floor due to disrepair.
I made sure to clean it up but the fact that I had no extra money to tip the poor house-maid who had to come in the next day and clean the room without a proper tip made me feel extra lousy.
For me, America's Best Value Inn was of very poor value and I kinda wish I would have simply slept outside on the bus bench down the road than exhaust all my much needed cash for essentially just a comfortable but likely a nasty, dirty bed in a lackluster room with service that shouted, "We don't care about you; all we want is your money!"
Absolutely terrible. The curtains were filthy, dusty, worn and looked like they had never been washed. Room reeked of cigarette smoke in spite of being "smoke free" and the carpet was filthy and had holes and cigarette burns, there were discolored areas on the wall where there must have been paintings/pictures and the bathroom shower was leaking badly, could hear water running all night. There was no breakfast as advertised and front desk said it was the only room available plus there was train noise at night (directly across of railroad tracks) and noise in the parking lot late at night, a fight between homeless people. In fact, it looked like many of the people staying there seemed to be homeless so it may have been a housing motel for homeless. It is a very large property but none of the pictures in their ad are true. The photos may have been taken years ago as the room was very run down, the furniture worn out, fridge did not work, TV didn't work well, the coffee maker was broken. Nothing was as pictured in their ads. The only nearby food was a Carl's Junior a couple of blocks away and next door was a tiny and terrible Mexican fast food place. Ate there once and it was worst food imaginable, looked like most of their business was laborers who came in the afternoon and sat talking and drinking beer (not eating). Would not recommend this terrible dumpy motel to anyone. Disgusting and filthy and wouldn't stay there again even if it were FREE!!!
The hotel deserves zero stars. Address is 44131 Sierra Hwy, Lancaster, CA 93534. Read the bad reviews and head their warning, this hotel is really bad. Don’t believe the positive reviews, they’re inaccurate and misleading. This hotel is a DUMP. The website pictures are from decades ago. My room looked nothing like the ones in the photos. Upon checking in and going to the room, I immediately went back to the front desk to cancel my two-night reservation. Per the hotel’s cancellation policy, I could only cancel the second night’s reservation. The two-night charge showed up on my credit card account the next day. Now 10 days later, the cancelled charge for the second night still hasn't been credited to my account. I tried calling to dispute the charge, but they kept hanging up on me. I had to file a complaint with my credit card company to dispute the charge with this hotel. The room was horrible. The TV didn't work. The wall ac unit was missing its cover. You could see all the dirt, spider webs, dust, mold, and other stuff that had collected inside. The walls were dirty with different colors from where the holes were filled and painted. The plaster looked like it was from the 1960s. The sink had an 8” crack in it with the outside finish peeling off across the sink bowl. The vanity had two of the three doors pulled off and wedged inside. You could see into the wall behind the vanity. It looked like something you would find thrown away in a dumpster at a demolition site. DO NOT STAY HERE!
The only thing that made it worthwhile was the fantastic staff there. The rooms are filthy, the ice machine/laundry room was in lockdown, there was furniture & bags of garbage laying everywhere outside, and even a toilet in the middle of the hallway. One motorcycle that was parked was completely taken apart parted out and another guy was working on his car in a parking spot in the middle of the night. Definitely will not be back nor recommend.
I was tired after having been on the road for 12 hours so I picked the closest hotel without reading any reviews. All I can say is that it will never happen again! Driving up to the property was worrisome. The room assigned to us was nasty, smelled and in such a terrible condition that it shouldn't be made available to anyone. I was speechless walking into such a filthy, foul smelling, and rundown room. Stains on bedsheet, burn/scorch marks were all over the bathroom counter, exposed electrical outlets, heat/ac unit falling apart and a toilet seat that didn't fit. I was in the room just long enough to take pictures for Expedia to see and hopefully contact this property about the condition of this hotel. I informed front desk about the room but apparently he doesn't care and said that all rooms are like that. We left and didn't get any refund from the hotel.
Room was disgusting. I couldn't sleep because of how noisy it was outside. When we left, we noticed a scantily clad woman leaning in a car window talking to a man, you can decide for yourself what that was about. Save yourself from going through what we did, go to another motel/hotel
Edit. Since I had a good experience there, (previous owners) I booked 2 rooms for visiting family. What a terrible disappointment. It has changed hands since my first review.
I was so embarrassed to have booked this place for my out of town guests
It is not as nice, dirtier. Management less responsive. Ants in bathroom, bringing a can of raid to kill the ants wash joke. skimpy on towels. Pool was closed . Now I’d give it 2 stars. Sad to see the old kind owners go.
“This place is the jewel of the Antelope Valley. Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff. You would never know you are off Sierra Hwy. This is a great place to stay for a weekend get away, or long term.
Great office staff, facilities are kept nice and the pool and jacuzzi are wonderful!
Washer and dryer too! I stayed for two weeks in the midst of a move
I love it there, want to go back to just relax for a weekend. A great value. Very safe and comfortable.
