The staff is friendly. The location is great. It’s walking distance to most anything you could want on the island. You receive a voucher for a pastry and coffee at the shop next door. The exterior is well maintained. Cute glow-in-the-dark stars are painted on the ceiling. The room smelled good. The rooms aren’t clean at all. I mean at all. The carpet hadn’t been vacuumed. There was dirt, nail clippings, and a pill on the floor. The sink was full of hair. The bathroom ceiling was moldy. The bathroom floor had black gunk piled up in the corners. The drains stink so I had to keep the bathroom door shut. The bedding was either stained or dirty. I used my own blanket and my coat as a pillow. The bedside table had salt on it. All the furniture was covered in dust. This could be a nice spot but it really needs a deep cleaning.
Friendly and professional proprietor. Excellent location, breakfast coupon for Amarin Cafe was pleasant surprise, and their coffee and pastries were wonderful. Room rating reflects that while clean and new towels were great, a little small and dated. Our full grown Dutch Shepherd was even welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend and stay here again!
This was a great stay! The staff was very responsive and friendly. Our room was spotless. They are undergoing renovations. Even though the room was older, we had no issue with it. Great location and price point for someplace to sleep while at the beach! We left a medication there by accident and they were so kind to call and let us know. The pool was sparkling! Even the other guests were friendly. They gave us vouchers for coffee and pastries next door and they were amazing! Shout out to Amarin cafe!
The place is in need of a sprucing up. That is the only negative about this property. The new owners and staff bend over backward to make your stay more pleasant. Any issues were addressed and resolved immediately. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. Pet friendly as well! Fabulous location on Maddox Blvd. Absolutely LOVE the glow in the dark ceilings in the rooms! Feels like sleeping under the stars!
We came to the island for vacation at our family friend’s place, but an issue with the building meant we had no running water. We called around to see which hotel would be kind enough to charge a reasonable fee for us to just shower up for the day and use the restroom; most refused or weren’t kind, but the manager of this place was understanding for our situation, helped us out, even offered us a room to stay in in case the water situation doesn’t get sorted soon. Writing this review essentially to say that if you stay here, rest assured the manager is a thoughtful, caring person who is surely working to make a comfy stay while at Chincoteague.
Loved staying here! We arrived late in the evening and staff was extremely friendly. Room was clean and smelled wonderful. Room was basic but it was all we needed. Shower was a little confusing at first but we figured it out quickly. Shower had good pressure! Beds were clean and comfortable. Fridge and microwave worked well. They had an adorable gift bag for us for staying with them. They did make it known in 2025 they are doing major upgrades and changing the name. Breakfast was from the restaurant next door. Drinks and pastries were delicious! Traffic was busy but it was around round up so we didn't mind, just keep in mind it's on the main straight away. Close to the beach and everything. Would gladly stay again!
Great experience at this hotel! Rooms are a little dated, and there are surely some cosmetic issues, but from the information I gathered, it seems like they are in the process of getting ready for renovating. Rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. Great value for the price. I really enjoyed the complimentary coffee and pastry everyday! Delicious! Everyone was super friendly. Can sense the employees actually do care about the business and the customers!
Very dirty room. Only stayed because no other places had vacancies. Saw evidence of insect infestation. Toilet was not secured to floor. Sheets were soiled. Swimming pool dangerously sloped and difficult to get out of. Do not stay here.
