I am going to start with the good. Both staff members that we spoke with were very nice. The hotel is far from new but was clean and in good order for the most part. The bed was very comfortable!! Now the not good. There were signs on the door when we came in saying to keep your key card on you after 11 pm or you would get locked out of your room/hotel if you did not have it. The person working night shift never came in, so they posted notes and left the hotel with nobody there to run things!! I ran a bath, with light off cus I had a headache, notice3d waater looked odd, turned on light and the waater was very brown/yellow. I got out quickly. We put some waater in a cup and it had floaties! Turned on the heater and it smelled like dirty feet, pulled out the filters and they were covered in yuck! Cleaned the filters so we could use the heater and they were fine after that. That needs to be done every time the room is cleaned! Breakfast was supposed to be out from 6 am to 9 am, at 630 we went down to see what there was, not expecting much, was told Oh, if you want it I can pull it all out! Decided not to waiit cus there is no telling what it would be. Had it not been so late when we got there we would have asked for a refund and went elsewhere.
I stayed here 3 weeks. Property have updated since July 2024. Rooms are renovated also new carpets and paint whole building. Manager is si kind and great help all 24 hours. Staff is great too.
This is the best no-frills place around. The staff is amazing, and Harry, the owner, treated us like family. We evacuated during Beryl and initially took whatever we could get. However, we were greatly surprised at the true hospitality. Close to Brenham and College Station, we had plenty to do and explore during our five day not-so-vacay vacation. My service dog, who is still a puppy and in training, did remarkably well, which tells me she liked the vibes.
Price gouging during Hurricane Beryl. I see the normal rate on a regular Tuesday night is around 55 - 65$ . I was charged 164$ plus booking fee for one night. Really terrible to take advantage of people who have had to drive all night to find a clean place to stay. Hotel was decent. Clean. But I stayed the next weekend at an upscale hotel in downtown Chicago for less than this....sad, shameful.
Positive: Nothing Negative: My card was charged after I checked out. When I called the manager was extremely rude, unprofessional and called me a liar. Needs management overhaul. Room smelt like a locker room.
Very clean, and pet friendly. Also SUPER affordable.. Minutes from the water with a very friendly and helpful staff. I had zero complications with my stay. Very enjoyable. I will be a returning customer and highly recommend!
Your unprofessional response proves everything I said in my review. No one said anything about your family that is completely fabricated. I don’t know you Harry but I know you called me a liar, cursed at me all while on clock. You should think before you send emotional responses to customers while you’re on the clock supposed to working. The issue is being taken care of at a corporate level.
THIS IS THE BEST MOTEL IN THE AREA. WORTH THE MONEY. THIS ONE IS CLEAN AND HAS BREAKFAST AND USUALLY COFFEE THROUGH OUT THE DAY ! I PROMISE ULL BE GLAD U CAME TO THIS ONE ! THERE IS ONLY 2 IN SOMERVILLE TX AND THIS IS THE ONLY CHOICE IF U ASK ME !
