The room was not clean. The "Breakfast" was a joke.
The service was lacking, and that's being nice. The only good thing about the place was the fact that no one else was staying there and it was only 10 minutes away from SMORR.
It was okay. The owner does not miss a thing. He watches you as if you're gonna steal a bed.
The younger fella was very nice. Room was a bit musty but pretty clean. The housekeeper does not keep the bathroom too clean.
Manger said he had rooms for dogs then, when we traveled all the way there, he said no more rooms- appeared to be very judgemental, if you only have cash don't bother! Credit cards only
Stayed here for couple nights to see Bakersville Tulip festival. This place is great and well maintained. Rooms were nice and clean! Specially bedding were really comfortable. Staff was polite and very helpful. Would definitely come back and stay in Spring festival in May.
Made a reservation for 2 rooms online, 3 months in advance for a trip. We booked rooms at multiple locations to accomodate everyone. Hotel never sent an email or a reminder call about the reservation, I did not even get a confirmation number. Our trip fell through and I forgot about this particular reservation. The day of our trip came and went, now I am being charged for the rooms because I was a no show on reservations I failed to cancel because I never got a reminder, or even info about a confirmation number. I called to express my concerns and the owner explained he has to pay a fee for a reminder/ follow up system, so he does not use one. We need to be in the area in July and I will gladly stay elsewhere. I realize I lost track of this, but there was no help or consideration from the owner. Anywhere else I have ever stayed sends reminders and this could have been prevented.
Overall, this hotel was horrible. However, the following are the pros and cons...
Pros: The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was good, and the sheets seemed clean.
Cons: The service was less than 1 star. Horrible. The front desk guy was extremely rude at check-in. At check out and all other times, he was nowhere to be found; the "breakfast " looked bad/old and no way was I eating there; the floors in the room were dirty...the carpet felt gross, and the bathroom floor was visibly dirty...had not been mopped, the sink had tiny black hair around faucet, the coffee pot worked but plastic cover was broken off.
I guess when you're the only hotel in the area and there's no competition, you think you can provide bad service and product. But there is competition.... I will stick with VRBO'S from now on.
My husband and I stayed there about 2 weeks ago. We had a great experience. There was room for our uhaul overnight so decent parking. The location was easy to find and get to off of Hwy 60. The gentlemen that checked us in were very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean, as well as the bathroom. They had a good breakfast also. It was limited but had a decent hot selection. We would stay here again.
I booked a room for one night and never got to stay because I got to the front desk and the guy (witch was very rude about everything) said I could not stay because of my age (18) so my dad at the time came in and said he would pay cash and the guy got really rude so we were left without a room and had to stay in the truck for the night also as I asked how to get my money back all he said was call the people who you booked from and as I was on the phone I walked outside and he came outside just to listen to the conversation. If I could rate 0/10 I would.
