So these are not the most fancy rooms, what they are is a fair price and CLEAN. I travel for disaster work. Extremely grateful to the owners. If you don’t require extravagance and are fine with a clean place to sleep. This is your place.
I’ve been to 2 star hotels and they were never like this. The first room smelled of mold and smoke. Heavy cigarette smoke. We had to change rooms (the front desk lady was very accommodating). The second room had a huge, half dead cockroach, the towels had yellow stains and we were too afraid to look under the covers. The windows looked out onto a Taco Bell 24 hour drive through, so you can’t even open the shades. We immediately booked the Hilton Garden Inn. We asked for a refund and the front desk lady was incredibly accommodating. Since we booked through Expedia, and their policy is no refund, she said that if we told them to call and confirm with her, she would make sure we got the refund. And we did! The Hilton cost about $60/night more than this hotel. Only reason it’s 2 stars is for the front desk lady. She was very nice and understanding. It’s also very close to downtown Sarasota. About a 5 minute drive.
Is it the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at? No. Did I know that going there? Yes. Is it the best deal for the price in the area? 100% YES! And it is in a PRIME location, central to so many beautiful beaches and places to see! The lady at the front desk is so kind and hospitable! The breakfast is as basic as it gets, but it's something. If you just need a place to lay your head down at night and don't need any huge bells and whistles, and don't want to spend much, this is the place for you!
The rooms for very clean the bathrooms were extremely clean and the beds were well made
I am stunned to see people speaking poorly about this place which offers a clean and very safe room in Sarasota for $120 a night. It’s an excellent bargain and yes, the structure is the classic motel six concrete bunker style hotel, but this is a place with a beautiful pool, very friendly staff, and a fantastic location. Spend the extra 15 bucks and get the room with a balcony interview, well worth it. Breakfast is awesome if you like mass market sugary cereal.
First off the word best should not at all been in its name. Booked a room for an overnight birthday present for my daughter and her friends. We thought they vould swim. Apparently pool closes at dusk. We had thought it would be open until at least 10pm bit it wasn't. The person at the front desk was extremely mean. She kept telling me I could not smoke in room or on balcony. After I stated the first time none of us smoke at all. Walk into the separate area to get to our room and it smelled very musty mildew. Our room also did but it got better with the air on. Beds were the most uncomfortable beds ever. Floor would have been better. On website it stated roll away was $10. Turned out to be $20. Bathroom had holes in wall. Continental breakfast was a joke. They separated a loaf of bread into baggies for toast and separated frozen waffles into baggies as well. Location states down town Sarasota but it is on not really downtown. It is on the farthest edge of downtown not within even walking distance. I have been in Motels that were far better and cost over $100. Less.
Positive: The hotel location is close to essential shopping, dining and healthcare services. Its staff is very helpful and friendly. The facility is basically adequate, albeit a bit dated. Negative: The breakfast room is very tight. It is too easy to bump into fellow guests. Could use a bit better food selection. Negative: ""
This hotel is very conveniently located. It is close to downtown and right across from Publix. They do provide breakfast consistng of cereal and milk, oatmeal, waffles, juice, coffee and tea. || The rooms could do with some updating. But, the room was clean as was the bathroom. There was a musty odor in the room. || The staff was friendly. Overall, a good value.
