The check-in was fast and the people were friendly. The room was clean and had been updated. This is an historic building which means it is old but in good shape. The AC worked. We had hot water. The mattress was the right amount of firm for me. And it was quiet. A good experience. I would stay here again.
To be fair the staff are nice, but that's the only positive thing I can say. We hadn't planned to stop here, however, we were tired after a full days driving and needed to rest. I wish we had read the reviews. The room was extremely dirty, with damp/wet stains on the curtains and shower curtain, stains in the toilet and bathroom, I felt slightly unsafe and wouldn't recommend anyone staying unless it was entirely refurbished.
My family reserved 3 rooms 2 specifically for ghost hunting. Room 255 and room 118 and a pet room . The reservation was so weird and unprofessional. Sent through a text. A photo of the screen monitor. To make sure our rooms were reserved my girlfriend and I drove to the clewiston and spoke to Patel personally. He confirmed everything.
Day of check in my mother in law got there first and we were told we only had room 255 for one night. I got on the phone with the receptionist told her my room was confirmed for reservation twice she would not work with me until I got stern with her. I don't think it's fair that these people are disorganized and my family has to pay for it. She eventually worked it out. But let me tell you it was not worth the fight. This place is a circus freak show ! Our second floor smelled like Bad Body odor like our heads were stuck in a dirty armpit. The hallways are 100 degrees no ac. Trash all over the property like old couches outside broken windows random toilet seat on the floor in the hallway. Mold smelt like diarrhea downstairs on the first floor. This place is unhealthy. It should be torn down. Or the Health Department needs to come in. I will never walk foot in this place again. Do not Do not I mean do not ever go to this hotel.
A clean and convenient place to stay at a very affordable price. There are always a few "bumps in the road" when you are traveling with a 12-16 person crew but our "bumps" were handled quickly and professionally. There is some remodeling going on but this did not impact our stay. The location was 10-15 minutes from our work site so after a 12 hour day it was nice to have a short drive to a hot shower.
If I could give this place zero stars I would! If you stay here, do it at your own risk. I checked in at 4 am and knew I should have left right then. The carpets smell like 1980, the ac didn't work, and the sink was clogged. I had to change rooms three times. Also, the toilet was leaking and had been leaking for some time because of the rust stain on the floor behind the toilet. The bathroom flooded when the water was turned back on, and the water was on and off the entire time I was there. They also wanted to charge me for two nights, even though I only stayed there for eight hours. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. If you are looking for a historic hotel, you would think the owner would take pride in maintaining their hotel. Nothing about my stay at this hotel was memorable in a good way. This place is a rat hole. Dont let the photos fool you- you won't get a room that head lined in the photos. First the staff was new and didn't really know to check us in- they were friendly but they ended up give us a room that had a person laying on the bed smoking a cigarette when we walked in.... I'm really not sure how that happens. Id be very upset if I was staying in a room and a random person walked in. The new room was pretty run down looking. There was mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom and on the shower curtains. There was hair left in the shower and toilet. I think the only thing that was cleaned was the bed looked to have new sheets on it.. I can look past most things but this place was just dirty. I would not recommend
I wish I could put zero stars. Do not waste your money. People that checked in after us went in their room and left immediately should have been my first clue. We would have left immediately but we were there to ghost hunt and experience was awful. Place smelt like an abandoned water damaged dingy basement. Random people not staying there hang out here did not feel safe at all. Do not come here only health department and police at this point should go. Any paranormal investigators do not go here it's a hoax.
Stay away from this hotel. The room was infested with German cockroaches. Should have read the reviews before booking the room. The curtains did not block out the light. There was NO WIFI in the rooms...we were told only in the lobby. The breakfast was supposed to be served at 6:30AM and at 7AM, still no coffee. What we saw, looked pitiful.
The beds were comfortable enough, sheets clean and there was good water pressure in the shower. The lights over the sink did not operate.
Two of the employees were extremely nice...the lady who works in the afternoons and the man with the dog. But nice isn't enough...nor is the decent price. Run to another hotel.
