Best WLM Reviews
First and foremost, this is NOT America's "Best Value". When we walked in we were greeted with the smell of smoke and while we waited for the front desk to show up we were greeted by a gentleman in the lobby asking if we would like to buy his cigarettes. Eventhough he had a choice of regular and menthol we did not find it appealing or appropriate.
Once we were checked in, we walked the hallway with the carpet bunched up in spots causing trip hazards. We opened our door and was greeted with room that we will never forget. It seems the room was meant for guests 5 foot or below. All the counters were about knee height. The mattress was noticeably worn and the covers had stains (not that kind). The only thing thinner than the pillows was the 1 ply toilet paper. The carpet had red stains next to the bed and the outlets were coming out of the walls.
Next morning when I awoke from a rough sleep we found a nice sized spider in the bathroom. We had to brush our teeth with bottled water due to the water having a funny taste. When we checked in we were told in detail that there is a breakfast from 6a-9:30a. We walked in for breakfast at 7a and the same staff member from the day before greeted us saying there is no breakfast and only coffee. We only paid $60 for the room so we got what we paid for but this place could do so much better if they put effort and pride into their work.
It was truly the worst experience of any hotel I have ever had. I don’t know how the people who own this can get away with it. Floors were damp reeks of weed bugs strange objects such as glow sticks found in bed. There were also holes in the blankets the lock did not work on the door. The mattress has springs poking out of it as well. Do not stay here.
You get what you pay!
This place is a Time Machine, you go back at least 60 years, not only that, the carpet is old and way to used, the chairs in the rooms are stained and the whole vibe is just modern.
The personnel at the front fest were very nice, the breakfast is only coffee.
Not a place to bring family.
For the price, the rooms were clean. They are a little outdated, but they are working on renovating. After a disastrous day of flying that resulted in our original reservation being cancelled at another hotel and having to wait for the rental car co to open, we needed a place to get a couple hours of sleep and shower. They were extremely accommodating to our situation. The room was clean and shower was hot and had good pressure.
It seems like there is an attempt at renovations in some parts of the hotel.
The pictures online are misleading as they no longer represent what this hotel currently looks like.
The check in process was great and the owner was very cheerful. The acrid smell of smoke greets you as you enter the hallway and then the sight of the dirtiest hotel carpet I have ever seen greets you.
I almost turned back but was desperate as all hotels were sold out for the weekend and had slept in the truck the previous night.
The carpets in the hallway are so stained and dirty that you can feel the carpet sticking to the sole of your shoes.
We get to the room on the second floor and the room itself was nasty, even after the room people had just recently cleaned it.
The bathroom was full of stains, the toilet seat was broken..they came and fixed it.The bathtub leaked water everywhere...
And then I saw the mattress and could not believe it.It was all stained and very, very, very dirty.
This was the aha moment for me but there were few options in my price range..sign at hotel shows it usually goes for $49.99 and rooms had just opened up for $83 on priceline so here we were.
The pictures attached may not clearly show how bad things were/are but this was one stay that I will live to remember.
Fortunately, we travel with raid for bedbugs and the citrus air freshener. We sprayed the mattress thoroughly and proceeded to clean the room inorder to make it an acceptable option for sleep.
The bed was somewhat comfortable and the thin pillows made it seem like there was no pillow at all
These rooms should not be open for bookings if the hotel is renovating or upgrading the hotel .
Absolute awful chemical smell up entering the room. Just really bad. I Wasn't even in the room for 10 minutes and someone knocked on the door. (Creepy!). Cheap plastic chair that actually ripped my shirt because it was damaged. The noise from ice machine and the hotel staff woke me up at least twice.
No real issue with my stay last October, though there was a bit of a musky smell in the room. Staff who greeted me at check-in were cordial and friendly. As an "elder millennial" I also have my doubts that this property has been renovated in my lifetime (!) - the room truly has a "retro" look (see photo). Syracuse certainly isn't the most enthralling US city to visit (I only visited because I was a fan of WWF wrestling in the mid 1990s, and there was an "incident" at a Syracuse nightclub involving WWF wrestlers in 1995), but this property served its purpose for my one (and undoubtedly only night's) stay in Syracuse.
Positive: Nooo bestWorst experience, while booking its shows free breakfast and they didnt even provide the coffee also. Negative: I didnt like everything, Bed is horrible and very old spring bed
