When we first walked into the room, there were german COCKROACHES running along the carpet. The sink to the left had what appeared to be baby roaches, and there was a large full grown roach in the bath tub. There were weird stains on the wall and the room smelled.
Lady at the front desk was incredibly rude when confronted about getting a refund even with pictures of the roaches being shown - the owner is 100% a scammer and refuses to refund us for our 2 nights, and lies about the COCKROACHES. Looking at prior reviews this is always the case and many other people have also experienced roaches being in their room and not getting a refund… DO NOT STAY HERE
The place in itself is good for its rating honestly the rooms are comfy but it does have a slight smell not bad or good the receptionist was very kind and informative along with nice only complaints I would have is with the smell of the room and a weird sound with one of the vent but overall it was great I would go again
Robbery
Nobody was at the front desk when I arrived. Waited 30 minutes before leaving.
When trying to cancel, owner does not accept refunds and claimed he was there the whole time. Worst hotel in Champaign.
Worst hotel I've stayed in in a long time. Price gouged for $200 plus a night because UIUC had a freshman fair. The normal weekend rate is $88/night. The person at the desk was barely communicable. Basically, here's your card, and leave me alone. Lobby was dirty. The ice machine had mold. The sink was cracked. Tub had a crack and cigarette burns. The shower head was broken. Water pressure was terrible. The room smelled like stale smoke and also smelled musty. (Had to go buy febreeze) TV didn't work until I fixed it. Chairs were all wobbly, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Very old and scratchy bedding. The door caught when you opened it. Stains on walls.
For starters we were welcomed with cops trying to fend a homeless guy blocking the entrance.
When we walked up to our room the door was ajar. Bathroom door would not shut. We paid $150/night and no idea why they charged so much with 0 quality. Breakfast was bad, room was not clean, with the heating screaming all night.
Lastly, I was bitten by not sure what, I have a huge hive that turned to painful rash that put me on antibiotics now. Where do I go to get the refund :LOL!! :( :(
When we first got here, we walked into a woman cussing and yelling from behind the desk because her paycheck wasn't in yet. Customer service should have been the first big red flag! Very inappropriate.
We checked into our room and we were there long enough to get changed and go to dinner and the football game.
Once we got back I went to set my stuff down and that's when the problems really started.
Roaches, roaches, roaches!
Absolutely disgusting! I could have lived with everything else wrong with the room but I cannot and will not, spend the night with roaches.
We went down to the front desk to notify them of the issue and he immediately cut my husband off and yelled "We don't have a bug problem and there are no refunds!"
I will be seeing what I can do to dispute this charge and get my money back. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
