What a cute spot. Unfortunately, with all of the associates wandering around to "help," not one ever engaged us. We had to ask for assistance on several occasions. We made this a special trip for my daughter's birthday, and I was highly disappointed in the lack of service. Hopefully, the LA store will be more welcoming.
My daughter had so much fun picking out her American Girl doll and accessories.
The day we went was a very busy day.
We were greeted with a friendly face and offered help right away. There were so many choices it was overwhelming at first, but we had fun looking at the various dolls and outfit choices.
She soon found the perfect one and loaded up on accessories and matching outfits.
I was a little disappointed that we were unable to visit the cafe without making reservations. I had called beforehand and was told that reservations weren't needed.
Luckily, Cool Springs had a lot to keep my girl entertained, so she didn't think much more about the cafe.
Be prepared to drop a few hundred because the doll and accessories are expensive, but we knew that before going.
Overall, it was a magical experience and she declared it "the best day of my life."
She's obsessed with her new Truly Me, "Darla." They've been inseparable ever since.
We took my niece for her 6th birthday. It was an incredible experience! The customer service is TOP NOTCH!!! THEY WERE AMAZING! She got her ears pierced as well. They catered to her every need and helped her find her PERFECT Doll. One of the most memorable things I've done! This was a couple of years ago, but the experience still comes to mind frequently.
Hosted a private birthday party for my daughter today. Janay made the experience priceless and did such an amazing job as our hostess. She made my daughter feel special and the service was superb. If you want to have a birthday here, request her! Only downside is the cake- it’s pretty but very dry/not tasty.
We had a wonderful visit yesterday for my daughter's birthday. The $300 she brought with her went much farther than I had anticipated, and she had a great time making her choices. A sales associate who's name I couldn't read (my only complaint! Please make the letters on the name tags bigger! I'm legally blind and small name tags don't help me! She was wearing a yellow shirt and showed us a new tattoo she had gotten of a Gargoyle from the cartoon all of us 90s babies loved as kids) was super great at helping us locate all of the things my daughter had seen in the catalog that she wanted, and educated us on how to help out her Kit doll's hair. We'll definitely be back again! The store was so clean and organized, even with the hoarders of holiday shoppers there. Absolutely recommend this location. Thanks for having us!
We gifted our beloved niece P an unforgettable experience at the American Girl doll store as an early birthday surprise, filling her heart with joy and wonder! Her excitement was palpable. ❤️????????????????????
Great staff that love and know their dolls. Treated our daughter with respect as her doll broke a leg. Hospital bound but promised the best care of her AGD.
UPDATE: After emailing them at the Emil they sent me below, they are sending me a new doll. But I have to send the old one back, and when I told my daughter, she was sad bc even though the new one will look like the old one, it's not the same. Hopefully the new dolls hair won't fall out! I am seriously finding doll hair everywhere!
Came here for my daughters birthday to puck out a doll and eat at the bistro. Not a party, just me and 3 of my daughters. It took a while for her to pick out her doll and 1 dress I was allowing because I am not made of money. There was a very nice lady in her 50's or 60's who helped us when we couldn't find what we were looking for. I wish I had gotten her name.
Anyway, we got her the cotton candy hair doll, went out, opened her up so we could go eat at the American Girl doll bistro went back and and apparently even though there was only 1 table of people in there you had to make a reservation! It was empty the while time we were there except for maybe 1 table. My daughters were so disappointed. Last time we came we didn't need reservations. And there were no signs saying you did. If there were I would have at least asked if there was a time slot open that day. And when I told the lady we didn't she was just like sorry can't help you. Not even showing good customer service by saying let me see if we have anything open, even if they didn't. That is just good customer service.
Shortly after we opened the doll and bought the special hair brush, we noticed her hair was shedding A LOT! I went back into the store because we hadn't left yet, and ask if it was normal. They said yes some shedding is normal. And then the lady said she had never seen a bald spot on the dolls because of it. If you look at my pictures I would call those bald spots!
Well her hair gets tangled incredibly easy. I don't remember our other AG dolls hair getting like this and our Walmart band ones don't either. While my girls were brushing her hair (with the special hair brush) it came out really bad this morning. So I took over and put her hair up. My pictures show how much hair came out with just me brushing it to put it up. You can feel it coming out every time you brush! I'm not being enough either! If I am going to spend that much money on a doll I expect higher quality! I would have been better off spending the same amount of money on a Walmart doll, clothes, and accessories! I am not a satisfied customer!
Oh and we live 90 miles from the store so it's not like I can just go return her!
