BED BUGS!!! BED BUGS!!! BED BUGS!!! Single most disgusting motel I've ever seen. I was only staying there one night so I could attend a convention. Everywhere else was booked up and I wasn't planning to be at the motel much anyway. The entire property was gross. Everything was covered in grime and dirt, and I haven't even gotten to the room yet. The room was horrible. The microwave didn't work. The toilet seat was broken. The room was filfy. It's the kind of motel you'd see in a rob zombie movie. Absolutely repulsive. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there. Also I got completely bitten up by bed bugs and I didn't even sleep under the covers. If I could put negative stars i would. This place should be condemned. There's a reason they have a no refund policy posted at the check in desk. Save yourself the money and possible diseases you will get here and book somewhere else.
So I'm actually surprised as many people gave decent reviews of this place as they have. I give it 3 stars because it worked out good enough for me.
The check-in went good. Was done in less than five minutes, and you don't have to pay any deposits.
The room wasn't bad. Had most of what I needed, but would have been nice to have a microwave and coffee maker there. I booked on the Hotels.com app so I got a lower price on the nightly rate. It's not quite the days inn, but if you're on a budget it might do. It was clean so that part works out, and TV had a lot of channels to choose from.
The downside ... While the location is close and even within walking distance from the downtown, it is in what would be considered a bad spot in town. A lot of street bums go walking by and tend to gather over at that Carolina Outreach Center across the street. And there's some rough neighborhoods real close by.
In my case, it was only me staying here and I had no problem with the location. But if you're traveling as a family with young kids, you may want to find a hotel in a safer part of town.
The first room was infested with roaches and we had to get another room. You get one key card, if you loose it you have to buy another one. The don't have a phone to call to the office and they don't answer the door either after hours.
I arrived and couldn’t get into the office to check in. Had to use a window with a rotten shelf. After waiting for 5 minutes a man came who obviously doesn’t speak English. Gave him my passport and card to pay. He disappeared for a couple of minutes and then a Mrs Patel arrived. She took my card and swiped it and asked me for the pin!!!! Like I was going to give her that??? The room stank of urine, the wall socket in the bathroom was detached from the wall, there was no tea or coffee in the room as advertised!! The refrigerator didn’t have any feet do you had to lift it to open the door! The air conditioning unit although functioning was extremely loud and I didn’t slop very well as it was so noisy. The bathroom had other peoples hair on the wall and the room was in total disrepair. The pillow case on July bed was embroidered with the name of a Tampa Bay hotel! Although I was expecting it I had to wait until the next morning to kill a small cockroach!! I would not recommend this hotel to anybody!
We were happy to find a room so soon after hurricane Florence. Good location....near food,Walmart, Dollar Tree, fast food restaurants and other stores and shops. Room very clean, quiet and well managed by owners. Entire motel, building, parking area and room well maintained. Clean bedding, towels and furnishings. Prices are reasonable. We were here about a week and our stay was wonderful. Very nice owners. They are hands on in running their business and doing a great job. We definitely will come again when in the area.
Roaches crawling into bed, can't sleep. Law enforcement had to come out because of the ridiculous activity going on after 2am in the morning. Customer service, very unprofessional. Was told to purchase my own new towels after asking for better ones????????????????????
Honestly this place is so gross, we stayed because we last minute needed a room. There were roaches in the bed when we pulled back the covers, so many that it felt like we were invading their space. We told the owners and they gave us a different room with roaches only in the bathroom, so I guess that's better? Also prostitutes are out all night and the owners wife yelled at us and tried to make us leave when we complained about the roaches.
This is the worst hotels Ive ever been in. They don't come in and clean your room you have to go ask the linens isn't changed out everyday. If you want your bedding clean youll have to wash it yourself they only wash once a week here. Roaches are horrible here you see them all in the bathroom and microwave. Rude people here knocking on your door different hours of the night and loud noise. Prostitutes everywhere and drug activity. I recommend NOBODY to come here don't waste your money cause its not worth it
