Best WLM Reviews

I recently had an unfortunate experience at the American Deli located on Summit Ave in Greensboro, involving a cook named David, which has left me quite disappointed. On a previous visit, I purchased a large fry but had to leave before receiving it, as I had to return to work. I returned the next day, expecting to simply collect my fries. To my surprise, David insisted that I had to pay for the fries again.
Not only was his demeanor unprofessional, but he also attempted to intimidate me during this encounter. Despite my polite approach to resolving the issue, I was left feeling frustrated and robbed. Shockingly, I was informed by other patrons that this behavior is not uncommon for David, and there were concerning allegations of other inappropriate activities occurring at this location.
The lack of accountability in handling such customer service issues is troubling, and I urge the ownership to re-evaluate the conduct of their staff. As a loyal customer, I expected better treatment, and until these issues are addressed, I’m hesitant to return.
Overall, this experience was disheartening, and I would advise future patrons to be cautious when dealing with certain staff members at this location. I'm hoping management takes these claims seriously and enforces a more customer-friendly approach moving forward.
We stopped here while we were passing through Greensboro. While waiting for our food, I got a little nervous while reading the reviews, but…
The lady taking the orders/working the register (that so many reviews mentioned) was not cheerful and overly friendly, BUT, she was ‘Efficient’ and ‘Knew her Job’ and ‘Did It Well’. (Which I much prefer)
My husband said his steak and cheese sub was good. My cheeseburger was delicious!
Neither of our drinks had any ice, which I found strange, but I’m guessing this was a management issue. I didn’t ask or complain because these 3 ladies were cooking in that hot, greasy kitchen, feeding us (and there were a lot of customers during the time we were there).
There was some kind of sketchy gambling going on right in front of the restaurant as we were leaving. That did make me nervous. Again, a management issue.
I would go back again, and smile and thank those hard working ladies!
The staff at the summit ave location were very unprofessional. I ordered my food on DoorDash and when I arrived two staff saw me waiting and had me waiting for a few minutes. When one approached me, she immediately said “we not taking no more orders” instead of greeting me or anything. I had to inform her I ordered online, my order was not only not ready but they did not seem to know what they were doing. After a few more minutes I was told someone picked up my order when I put for pickup. I had to wait for my order to be remade, I was not given a timeframe, no communication. The staff yelled at me when I picked up the wrong order and had a terrible attitude. Considering this was my first time visiting an American deli at all, this experience has made me debate if I will ever go to another one or just not that location.
Not the best or my favorite one in the city. For the price this stores portions are very very disappointing. I got a half tray of fries whereas other locations give good portions and they weren’t hot. When I asked for ketchup I got 4 packets. I wasn’t greeted and didn’t really feel welcome. This was one of the worst food experiences you can have. The staff was unprofessional, didn’t know what they were doing, no guidance or management able to help. The staff was using profanity and just discussing inappropriate topics. All the customers in the establishment were so upset. I should have left initially but had a long drive home and wanted something to eat while in town and love American Deli. Food was subpar. Like honestly they need new staff at this location or shut it down altogether. Told their customers they weren’t serving taking anymore customers around 7:45 and close at 9. Waste of time and money.
Worst customer service.Ordered online,40 minutes before I went to pick up my food.Young girl ask my name for pick up,I gave her my full name, and she said it coming up.After 30 minutes I went to as this you lady where my order is which she replied what is the name on the order.I again give my full name and she said we don’t have an order for that name.Ask for a manager and showed them both my text from the online order. It turns out my food sitting there almost 45 minutes until they figure out thee ticket only had my first name and first letter of my last name. This you girl got an attitude with me because she didn’t address the name on the ticket properly or even look to see if ther was an order for jus chicken wings and fries which would have resolved the issue. The manager had to point it out to her,and even he was in apologic. Staff need trading in customer service asap
I'm reviewing this restaurant for customer service and hospitality for my family member! My daughter was visiting and received rude and hostile welcoming from the very large in statute black female with dreadlocks. I'm not sure why after all the reviews of this obnoxious and "brolic" person continues to represent such a prestigious establishment as American Deli. I sincerely hope that an investigation of this most recent encounter on 7/22/24 at approximately 3:30 pm find a resolution for unacceptable conduct and behavior to customers. I've attached a screenshot of a review over one year ago and she continues to treat customers with ultimate disregard and hostility.
I was shocked last week when I went to this location and both employees decided to take lunch at the same time and closed the restaurant. As I was not the only person they shooed away, there was 4 other customers they told to come back in an hour around 5:30pm. One man began to give the little girl (employee) a piece of his mind saying he never seen no store run their business like this before and called her out on their poor judgement. I will say they have good food but managed poorly and I will not return to this location just as the other people had said also. I wasn't able to reach the person that runs this location but I figured this post will be seen and the right person who needs to correct these issues can do so.
