Best WLM Reviews

My mom and I stayed here this past weekend and loved it! Ralph at the front desk was super nice, the rooms are clean and cute little decor that goes with the old time theme. Bathroom was completely renovated and nice. My only complaints are the check in and out times. ( check in @3 out at 10) if you want a slow morning this would not be the place. The rooms did have a smell but it’s the typical smell that comes with an old building, nothing super bad, and the water cooler in the snack room wasn’t working. Other than that we loved this place and would def stay there again!
This motel is wonderful!! Great value, clean, good amenities, and fully remodeled beautifully. I would suggest to disregard the string of bad reviews about 10 months ago - they all appear to be totally fake to me. After staying in a horrible quality inn in Nebraska last nite, I am so happy to be in a clean, cute, cozy room. Only suggestion would be blackout curtains for added privacy and darkness. I hope to be back in this beautiful area sometime soon and will definitely stay here again!
We stayed at this motel because of the cool retro vibes from the website and accompanying reviews from Google, etc… while the photos remained relatively true to their word, the overall feel of the motel was a little lacking unfortunately. |Upon check in we had issues with our credit card and ended up with a couple of charges that were luckily resolved before they were officially posted to our card. To the credit of the staff checking us in, they did try to help but they were limited in what they could do. |The room, although decorated appropriately, had an initial smell to it as we entered it. Musty and moldy. We were very disappointed to say the least. We ended up purchasing some baking soda boxes and some air fresheners to help with the smell. Although it helped a bit, the overall smell would not go away. Perhaps asking you staff the leave the small bathroom window open might help a bit to keep some air circulation going. The carpet was stained a bit in some areas, but the overall noise wasn’t terrible, but we weren’t super close to the road. We didn’t have the chance to try to grab and go breakfast as we had a number of early mornings to hit the road. |As some reviews indicated, the internet is horribly slow so please be aware of that. Though I don’t think it would be fair to rate this place solely on its internet speed. |So much more can and should be done to upkeep this motel and hopefully give it a better rating. For those who complain about the rules and ensuing poor service, I do suggest you read their rules first before booking. We gave ourselves plenty of time and planned appropriately to make sure we didn’t have any issues. |All in all, it was a place to stay and crash for the night. Not the worst place we been to, but has some potential to be better.
Stayed here for one night on our road trip to Independence pass. Had high expectations but was pretty disappointed.
Starting with the good…. Cute common/outdoor areas and great location. Rooms are newly renovated and clean - cute decor and vibes overall. There’s also a well equipped snack room that offers coffee, warm/cold water and grab/go breakfast in the morning which is convenient.
However, WiFi is SO SLOW and can’t handle a FaceTime call. Their extremely slow draining bathtub also made showering very unpleasant. While I appreciate their convenient grab and go breakfast, I would also read their packaging very carefully as a few of the items we got from there are a few months past the expiration date.
I understand that this is not a fancy resort but for paying over $150 a night I would at least expect a functional WiFi and bathtub…
This is by far the cleanest MOTEL (not hotel as many people seem to get confused on that part) my boyfriend and I have stayed at. Love the retro remodel and the welcome goody bag. Rules/ regulations are very simple to understand and follow. The staff was very friendly and helpful answering all the questions we had. Prices are very affordable. Will definitely stay here again next time we pass by/visit Salida.
We are on a road trip and just happened to stumble upon this gem last night. I'm sad we can only stay one! Our room was super clean and so cute! The decor is well done with a great retro theme! The owner was very kind and helpful and gave a great dinner recommendation! I highly recommend looking them up if you are in the area!
Simple but adequate. Check in was great on Friday. However we had a crummy experience with the front desk person as we were checking out Saturday. She assumed we were going to fill our cooler with ice, when it was not the case. In fact, we didn't even fill the ice bucket the day before and I felt two ice buckets at checkout to fill our water bottles was reasonable, which I did take. She got snappy and rude.
At 10:02 am she stormed over to our truck, informed us if we didn't get off the premises she would charge for another night. Totally uncalled for. The dog and all luggage were packed and ready to go, we were doing one last check of the room. We are local (Pueblo) and doubt we will use the motor inn again or for that matter, recommend it. .
Great motel, would recommend it highly! We stayed just for a night but the check in experience was good, the room was super cute and clean and great location to downtown. The 4/5 star rating for service was due to slow wifi connection. I would return again.
