Best WLM Reviews

Came as a walk-in after trying to call ahead for an appointment. Upon entering the brightly lit business where you step up to a counter with an employee seated, prepared to ask your information. "We accept all insurance," she stated, and I handed her my United Health (Medicare) card. Upon looking it over, she handed the card back while saying, "we don't take Medicare." I replied asking about the special they had posted for [2 pairs of glasses and exam $79.95] and would just do cash. After signing forms and learning that the Optometrist gives the exam via a computer screen, we did our testing with the aid of techs. After searching for a frame in my style, I am used to from only a handful of options as you are limited with the special. I don't wear the big round or horn rimmed frame, so I was choosing outside the "special" where I would have to pay the difference. After being told the lenses would have to be grinded and smothed to go into the rimless part of the frame, the progressive lense is an extra charge, and I had to have a special type of lense for this process brought the total to over $400.00! I currently am wearing Coach™️ frames with a progressive that are frameless with a scratch proof lense that was just over $200.00. I declined the purchase and ended up paying $69.00 for the exam.
I took the prescription to Walmart's Vision Center, where I was able to get name brand frames???? with all my requirements for the lenses PLUS transitions???? with warranty added and only paid $80.50!
Everything was fine (receptionist was great, Doctor was great) until I sat down in the glasses area to get my trial pair of contacts. The lady told me that since I didn't purchase my contacts from them last time, I won't be able to get another trial pair. I paid for a membership that is good until 2026. It has been over a year since my last exam (and trial pair of contacts). I get my check on Friday. No sense in coming back in the future for my next eye exam in a year, since I won't be able to make sure that my new prescription is right. Called Tyler location, and they told me that she should not have told me that, because that is not true.
I was told to wait 7-14 days for a pair of contacts to come in..mind you it's been a month. When I called today the girl that answered the phone said I only paid for an exam. After the fact my husband went in and came home with my contacts that she said we're not there. She should do her job better.
*Update*
They made everything right by me. Reordered my new pair and had me in & out as soon as they arrived.
Glasses way too big for my face, and was actually told by the woman who was "helping" me that they looked great. Pushed into purchasing 2 pairs of glasses that fall off my face, even after they adjusted them twice! (Of coarse they got their money first and I'm left with garbage
Very helpful and professional, my examination technician was fabulous and very professional great at what she does.
Lamekia helped me out with my insurance and was spot on , and took all the worries away :-) will definitely ???? be my choice next time I need an eye exam or glasses ????
I used to love this location but something has changed. Sent a friend to them, first person doing her exam said all sorts of things were wrong with her eyes. Second person came in to finish up the exams (which one was the actual eye doctor, who knows) and told her that her eyes were fine and gave little information about what they were seeing. After finding this out, I called America's Best back and requested that the doctor call my friend and explain just exactly what all they found. As I was explaining the situation to the receptionis, they hung up on me mid sentence. This will be the last time I refer them out and I will find myself a new eye doctor.
I was very pleased with the selection and Brandi was very helpful making selections that matched my insurance coverage.
My family and I have been using America’s best for the past 6-7 years at Dallas, Tyler and now Longview location. Time to move on to a more decent optometrist office that actually cares for its patients, since this location’s experience has not been the best, especially this last visit. The staff is horrible, they have the worst customer service. If they hate their job, they should resign, find another job and stop being miserable to others. Corporate needs to do something about it; look at all your customers’ reviews! Don’t waste your time and money to be treated badly and disrespectfully. Highly do not recommend this location.
