I’m quite disappointed. My wife and I were hopeful to get an eye appointment for our son after reading great reviews of this location. We made an appointment this past Saturday that we arrived for early. After being seen briefly and looking at the letter chart, we were sent back to the waiting room. We waited for an hour before we were told we couldn’t be seen, and we would need to reschedule. I thought it was odd, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Another appointment was made for today at 4:45. Another eye chart, another hour plus wait. No real priority or urgency for anyone’s schedule. I get that people are human and sometimes things fall behind, but if you’re having people wait multiple hours for a fairly straightforward eye exam, you’ve got scheduling issues. Would not recommend.
I only chose America’s Best because they carry Pair Eyewear and I wanted to try on the frames in person. They have a very limited selection of pair frames. Don’t go here unless you have hours to spend. I had a 5:45 appointment, at 7 pm, I still had not been seen. I finally asked how far behind they were, and was told 2 hours. Why would you waste a customer’s precious time? They should have warned people as soon as they walked in the door that there was a long delay. Come to find out, they don’t even have a doctor on site. I cancelled my appointment, I won’t be back there.
I'm happy to say that this was one of the most refreshing experiences I have had as a consumer in a very long time, especially since customer service in all other areas of our economy has plummeted. Wow, is all I have to say.
I was greeted by the Manager Lane Brown outside the store one day when walking by as he was on his break, yet he devoted his time to help me with my concerns about ordering and making a doctors appointment for contact lenses and glasses. I wasn't even planning on it but Lance was so kind, friendly, and helped me understand how easy the process would be, and before I knew it I had an appointment.
I came in for my appointment and I was happy to see Lance after our last encounter the day before. He was super helpful and had such a great positive energy about him. I never knew getting contacts and glasses could be so much fun. I couldn't believe how fast I was in and out of there. The lady who did the pre-tests was also amazing, friendly, and professional especially for being a new employee.
Before I knew it the eye exam was over, and the nurse lady who sets things up was super friendly and kind as well, had a great smile on constantly. She addressed my concerns and made my nerves calm by assuring me the process would go smooth. The Doctor was excellent, very thorough and knowledgeable, kind, and caring. She made me aware of and taught me things about my eyes that I did not even know. I certainly am thankful for that.
I checked out with Lance, and I had such a good time. I never thought getting contacts and glasses could be so exciting.
I also had the chance to also witness Lance help other customers. He is great with kids! Some poor kid came in and lost his glasses or something in the pool, and Lance calmed the upset kid down very professionally assuring him it would all be good. Lance deserves a raise, I certainly hope that my phone call report went through as I had such a good experience I called corporate to let them know! Not sure about the other reviews on here, but I wish every consumer experience was like this! Thanks Lance and crew! I have extremely high standards and am very picky, yet I had a 10 star experience!

is 91 and needed new frames. Janice was so nice and patient with my Mom and went above and beyond to help her! A real asset and value to America’s Best! Thank you Janice!

Had two appointments for two children, we were 15 minutes late. They said no problem. Did glaucoma screening on 6 and 8 year old brought two people in the room during this screening. Had a man sit next to six year old in the dark and performed his screening. Completely unprofessional and uncomfortable. Then left us sitting for 2 hours. Awaiting eye exam. We finally left. Would not recommend with Americas Best
Lance brown was so helpful with every step of the process. Such a professional when it came to handling everything. To pick out and pick up my glasses he really did take the time but also got me in and out fast! Because of my experience with lance and America’s best I would highly recommend them to anyone I know.
The lady at the desk, her customer service was lacking. She could’ve been a little more helpful. I would not suggest anybody go there. If you really wanna go to a good eyecare place go to My Eye Doctor.
These folks are amazing. I don't even know where to begin. I'm gonna just high light some main points&say as a mom I don't hesitate to tell another parent to take their kid in here!
After a long extended appointment yesterday with trying new contacts and the lovely gals that patiently helped my teen walk through the care, storing and upkeep of the lenses we came home.
Well this morning on accident my teen accidently dropped one down the drain. She was devastated, I was devastating and there's a huge tournament this weekend they needed this lenses for.
I called the store-
Janet not only took my call, let this moma vent but she went above& beyond as she found another location (fxbg) that had the same rx in stock (as a trial) and has them on hold for us now to go get the replacement.
I could literally cry I am so greatful. I have not experienced customer service (or even human compassion)like this in over a decade.
Thank you so much to the Culpeper location and staff and we will be back again with our next child!
