First and foremost, this review was written voluntarily. I was not pressured or even asked to leave a review. My first time visit was great! The staff are friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all my questions. The optometrist was nice. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing an eye exam or new set of glasses. I had a cancellation for an appointment a day before the appointment at a different store. My friend found America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses and I was able to make an appointment for the next day on their website.
Shout out to one of the staff members named Brandon. He did an extraordinary job! I didn’t feel like he was trying to rip-me off. He was patient with me, I didn’t feel rushed. He was familiar with the different plan options and was able to explain what I actually needed. There was a promotion going on where you can buy two glasses and get a free eye examination. In addition, they are military friendly. I received an eye exam, 2 frames, blue light lenses in each frame, anti-reflective lens in each frame, 1 year product protection plan, and a 10% military discount off the total. I definitely saved a lot of money by going here.
I think the only recommendation I’d ask for is to get the Chanel line of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Hampton Roads, VA doesn’t sell Chanel lines eyeglasses/sunglasses. Which is a bummer because I need to drive about 2 hours to DMV area to a different store to get these. Overall, customer service was exceptional. I am satisfied with my visit.
This store is not acceptable. I scheduled an appointment for today at 11 am and I was basically harassed with numerous confirmation text and emails. I even filled out the online form. Yesterday I was called after I confirmed via text and email that if I did not call them back to confirm for the 3rd time I would be cancelled. Personally that’s a bit excessive and aggressive. When I got to the store it was uncomfortable and extremely over booked and busy. The employees are not friendly at all. With someone being so diligent about confirming the appointment you would think that I would be seen right at my appointment time. I was not. I tried to use the restroom and that was disgusting as well that I turned around and walked back out. I waited a little longer but when after waiting almost an hour from the vibes of rudeness, to cleanliness I no longer felt comfortable so I left. If this is a corporate business someone really needs to go evaluate this place.
We had an excellent experience at this location. We called before we came for directions and were kindly helped and given a marker to look for on our way since we were coming from Carrollton.
We had an eye exam done by Monique , who was wonderful with my Mom, who is hearing impared. She was kind, repeated directions when needed and was just great! We are now waiting to see the doctor, but so far our experience has been wonderful ????
They where so far behind that I didn’t get seen till 3 full hours after my appointment time. Got the lenses flipped a total of 4 times all of witch I said it looked the same and I still can’t see well. Didn’t have the contacts I needed and was told they would be ordered. Still nothing yet but it has been about a week. Asked for my RX and was given some paperwork that I realized after I left was not it. And the cake they kept telling me I needed to pay $110 for the exams when I kept telling them that I had the eye care club.
This is just my experience on my last visit. I have been coming for over 10 years and other then saying 2 pairs and exams for $70 is bull. That is only if you don’t actually need glasses to see life. Maybe just to read. I never leave paying under $350 for just glasses for me and each of my kids.
It would have been better if the facility actually had the new prescription strength we needed to try. Still waiting, we are almost out of contacts. Will probably just have to order them without trying them first.
Editing to add- TOTAL NIGHTMARE! The remote dr won't get back to the clinic to finalize a prescription and my daughter won't have any contacts to see. No one seems able to be do anything. Never again.
Wow! The staff is friendly, every single on of them! Great experience checking in. Fast, simple, easy. Technician was awesome! Doctor was fantastic and friendly! Salesman was super and nice! I can't say enough about the whole experience! Especially after going to another local shop this past week, and receiving horrible treatment by some of their staff. So scheduled and appointment online this morning. I was a little apprehensive after my experience this past week with MyEyeDr, but America's Best definitely changed those feelings! Since I had already used my free eye exam with my insurance company earlier this week, I was paying out of pocket. Well worth it! Cheaper than I would have gotten off for a single pair of glasses at the other company. Instead I got the exam, two pairs of glasses for what my balance was going to be after using insurance at MyEyeDr! Well marked with which frames are included in the promotion of 2 pairs for $79.95, which they had a deal going so was actually $10 cheaper. If I wanted an upgrade of frames the lenses, easy and spelled out. No questioning! This is how it's supposed to work! No high pressure sales! I was able to browse, select, and not have to question as to what frames were included. If you are looking for a great place to get your eyes examined, and buy glasses, then this is the place to go! It was so refreshing to be treated as a person, not a dollar sign, and to not be made to feel like I was a simpleton because I asked a question! I highly recommend America's Best at Jefferson Commons! Wonderful, awesome, delightful staff!
Horrible glasses they always break but it's convenient for exams. I go in today the "man" tries to hand me a dirty unsanitary tablet to fill out and then computers are down. Total trash quality place. Zero stars do not recommend.
My husband and I went to the America’s best in Denbigh on Jefferson ave in Newport News.The sales optician Jasiana was so pleasant and knowledgeable and extremely patient with us as we could not decide on the perfect pair of glasses to choose. She also let us know that today would be her last day working there, and I have to say although this was our first time meeting Jasiana I feel bad that she’s not going to be there to help us out anymore. We wish her all the best. America’s Best is losing a extremely good worker.
