Awesome optometrist. I typically go to Vision works but they cancelled my appointment less than a half hour before it was scheduled. Americas best was able to fit me in with 20 minute notice. They are 10 times cheaper than Empire Vision Works and so much more helpful. After this amazing experience at Americas best, I will not be going back to Vision Works.
The Ithaca location was a terrible experience - I usually go to the Syracuse area stores and definitely will in the future. Waited 40 minutes to be seen by the doctor who checked literally one slide per eye then terrible customer service after that. The people who work the front desk all act like it’s their first day giving unclear information. I had to call 3 times to get my glasses prescription - what a nightmare for something so routine.
Came here and had the best experience with Char. She helped me when no one was else was willing to and really went the extra mile. She was great, especially how much it feels no one cares these days, she made sure my needs were met and beyond. Thank you Americas Best!!
I was a desperate woman, hoping to walk in and get an unscheduled eye exam needed for the DMV to approve my drivers license renewal. Thank gawd there was availability, the staff was friendly and helpful, and I passed the exam! Walked out of there with an approved vision form and got my license at DMV 20 minutes later. Thank you America’s Best! ????????
There are a lot of negative reviews of this place, but either they changed their staff or got training or something because I had a very positive experience. Everyone was friendly, polite, helpful and professional. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The selection of glasses was great, though I do think it would be helpful if they organized them by size to make it easier for people to find pairs that fit. The doctor was really friendly and helpful and the glasses were ready in a week. They initially told me two weeks, which I thought was ridiculous, but I have a feeling they only say that in case of unexpected delays. One week was very reasonable and since I thought it would be two, I was happier to have them "early." I'm definitely going back to order a back up pair in the future and some contacts too. I don't know if it's America's best, but it sure is great!
Came back to add that after my glasses broke, they were excellent about fixing them! When the manager found out that no one had offered me a warranty on the first pair, she added it for free. GREAT SERVICE!
My husband and I could not be more pleased with our experience. The staff was beyond caring and courteous and went above and beyond to ensure that our eye exams were thorough and explained the process and results. There is a good selection of frames in store and we found exactly what we wanted. Excellent visit overall!!
Char is the best! She knew what I needed and was able to help me out quickly. Her knowledge of the products and processes was extremely helpful! She IS one of America’s Best’s best!
I'm very happy with my experience at America's best in Ithaca. The manager and doctor were both great, prices and selection were fair, and I love my new glasses.
