Scheduled an appointment online over a week before my appointment. I get called about my appointment 3 days prior to confirm. Not once was I informed that the doctor wouldn't be on site. I got to my appointment 11a for 11:15a first appointment out of three and get told it'll be remote without an actual dr in the room but with a technician. A technician is not a Dr.
Also got a lame excuse apology about the person calling me before being new. No matter if you're early for an appointment at this location and attempt to do everything in advance this location lacks professionalism and needs skills training in customer service. They're lacking and I will not subject myself or children to this again.
I Highly Do Not Recommend this location to anyone. Janaf in Norfolk, Virginia requires major overhaul. This incident took place on August 10, 2024 Saturday. Appointment was for myself and my two teens. 11:15a, 11:30a and 12:00pm appointments. No need for me to reach out as my patronage is over with this establishment.
Horrible experience. They did not have the decency to call and let me know they needed to reschedule my appointment because their doctor was overwhelmed, but they had confirmed my appointment so I showed up to be told. I want to reschedule you for another day not happening. I will find another place to go. I have used them several times and the quality of their glasses is not really very good. I only gave them a one star rating because I had to give something but they just lost customers today. The appointment today was for my husband, but I had scheduled one last week and they called at the last minute and canceled it so I'm not sure what's going on there
*EDIT: They reached out the same day I posted this to do a "one week check in" and ask how it was going. No idea if that's standard or if they saw this review. Staff was very nice, and said I could bring the glasses back and they would fix them, which I did, and they did.
I shouldn't have had to spend ANOTHER hour of my time driving ALL the way back there, and ANOTHER 1/4 tank of gas to get there, both of which were NOT in my VERY TIGHT budget this week. But at least they made it right, and I can wear this VERY EXPENSIVE pair of cheap glasses. 2/$69 is still a LIE.*

Exam was fine, however, picked up my glasses less than a week ago and ALREADY one of the screws that held the lens in has completely fallen out, hit the floor, and can’t be found, making that pair useless.
For what I paid (the 2/$69 that they advertise is a LIE when you add in all of the hidden up-charges) I expected them to last more than a WEEK. Especially since I don’t wear them while doing anything strenuous.
I can get better quality prescription glasses online for 1/4 of the price! Luckily I already ordered a pair from a different online company for $35 (including glare protection and other such features that don’t come with these America’s “Best” broken glasses), so once those come in these bad quality America’s “Best” glasses will only be backups, but I’m not sure why they think these are worth the $150+ dollars that I paid if they break within a WEEK!!
I had an outstanding experience at America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses at the Janet Shopping Center. From the moment I walked in without an appointment, the staff was incredibly accommodating and efficient. They got me in and out swiftly, ensuring I didn't have to wait long at all.
Dr. Gdovin was fantastic—her professionalism and expertise were evident, and she made the entire process smooth and hassle-free. The level of care and service I received exceeded my expectations. I would give them over five stars if I could! Highly recommend this location for anyone in need of eye care services.
Staff was wonderful! Had a very easy, comfortable appointment and for $69 got two pair of glasses and eye exam. Definitely worth going in and seeing if they have want you want or need. I’m getting my glasses from here from now on. America’s Best you just made a lifetime customer!

Tonia, Sade, and Pam are absolutely amazing. These women took such good care of me from when I walked in the door. They should most definitely get a raise and prepaid vacation to somewhere nice and warm! I will not be taking my business anywhere but to them. I recommend this place to all my friends and family!!! Come see these wonderful women and you will not be disappointed!!!
