First time visit. Live in the area for years but rarely try the locals near.
This place is s good choice if you want authentic mexican food. Family owned ,Hand made tortillas & sreet tacos were really good.
Plus staff was friendly.
Prices were good as well. Less than the TexMex places.
The overall of this restaurant is very nice maybe they were just having an off day in the kitchen.
Food - the queso tasted like kraft Mac and cheese melted cheese (my daughters words) the chips where hard but once you added lime and salt they were really good with the salsa. My daughter did not like the enchiladas because of the queso but she ripped them open and at the beef inside and said it was pretty good. The chicken fajitas had a slight taste from the cast iron skillet still and definitely could have used a bit more seasoning.
Service - phenomenal
Atmosphere- only because they had some maintenance issues happening it took away from the great place
I went here tonight with my brother and mom and was fooled by how nice it looked from the outside. Inside there was a group of about 25 women, and they were being so incredibly loud. I'm talking about dancing on chairs, ringing bells to announce a round of shots and the music did not help either. We could barely hear each other talking and asked the waiter to repeat himself, and he couldn't even hear us. It was so loud that we complained and said we were leaving and to just charge us what we had ate which was some chips (not finished), a half finished margarita, half finished coke and a glass of water. Then when it looked the ladies would leave then came a waiter with even more alcoholic drinks. The staff did not quiet them down nor did the owner, so we left and paid what we ate... But to be honest, I wouldn't have even paid for it now that I think about it... The experience was horrible, gave us a headache and left us in a bad mood. I do NOT recommend this place AT ALL!!!!
My sons and I were looking for a nice place to have dinner we ended up here we sit down order drinks and there was a big crowd of women maybe around 25,they were super super super loud not to mention drunk!! We thought hey maybe they're leaving by the time we order,we order and they got even louder and started dancing on the tables!! We couldn't even hear ourselves, we canceled our order we just couldn't take it anymore, I talked to manager and said to please cancel our order he said we will turn music down,I told him it wasn't the music but the people being rowdy.. It was such a horrible experience I've ever had at a restaurant, never will I ever come back. It left us in such a bad mood and annoyed ????I would not recommend at all!!
Amelia’s Mexican Restaurant puts the home in Homemade!
The super soft and tasty tortillas are the best in DFW.
The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make dining here a pleasure.
Bryan was our waiter and he guided us through the menu to order exactly what matched our taste.
The fajitas, chile Relleno, and deep fried chimichanga were prepared perfectly.
The only negative was the chips and salsa.
Specifically, the chips were hard as a rock.
The salsa had a sweetness not typical of tex mex standards .
Don’t get me wrong ,they were satisfactory, just not my style.
The bar was good and happy hour all day Tuesday was a bonus this initial visit.
This is a well run family business and you will notice it in every detail.
The Rowlett community has a fine Tex Mex establishment to enjoy.
If in the area make sure you stop by.
It’s worth the trip.
I was recommended to the place and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly, attentive and took time to explain the dish for questions I had. Mole was very good. I never had this dish before and I really liked it. The bunch of spices it has brings a lot of flavors and send you in deep thoughts where I closed my eyes and just enjoyed every piece. It was good.
Salsa was very spicy for me. I asked for something milder and got green salsa which was equally spicy if not more. I got tears from the heat and that’s why four stars. Wish the salsa could be milder and I could enjoy the taste rather than burning my tongue and throat from the heat.
Can’t wait to try their Chicken Fajitas now and for sure I will be back.
FIRST TIME TRYING AMELIAS BEEF FAJITAS & SHRIMP WERE GOOD IT WAS INLCUDED RICE ,PICO DE GALLO ,AVOCADO, NO SOUR CREAM????THE WORST PART DID NOT LIKE WAS TORTILLAS THEY WERE HARD ????!!!! GREAT SERVER DUKE
First time here and will be back for sure. Food was tasty and service was friendly.
