That is my favourite Movie theater. Big space, a lot of movies. Sometime is problem to find parking closer to theater.
Lots of parking but sometimes you have to walk a bit to get to the front door. Lots of movie choices and theatre types- 3D, Dolby, Laser, plush chairs, regular chairs... pick your tickets and seats ahead of time. Ran into some friendly people. The place could be cleaner but people are slobs and I imagine it is hard to keep up with the crowds of people. Lots of shopping and food options nearby.
Great theatre. The staff are always kind and they clean up well between screenings. I enjoy coming here but just wish there were some more morning viewings offered. Otherwise will continue making the drive.
The theater has laser projectors now making the picture very vibrant. Looks great sounds great. Prepick seats is nice and they're very comfortable
Paid extra to come to this AMC, to not have the recliners for seating. I didn’t know there were AMC’s that didn’t have the recliners. The food was also gross (I had the sliders) & as usual overpriced (6$ for a small water bottle).
Love the location and its atmosphere. Coke Freestyle machines could use a refresh. Soda just don’t taste right after trying multiple machines on multiple visits. Seats can use an upgrade too. Nice IMAX theater.
Thanksgiving day we went to Rockaway theater to see Bon Hofer. There were only four people in the theater. Two of us and another couple the previews opened and the noise sound was deafening beyond belief thank God we brought earplugs.. You shouldn’t have to bring earplugs to a movie theater. My husband had a decibel app on his phone and it got well above 80 which is a dangerous amount of sound. We thought maybe the previews were louder than what the movie would be.
That didn’t happen. The movie was just as loud and we complained to the sound guy. Whatever he did hardly made a difference. So we asked him again and yes, you guessed it. He made it too soft. So we decided to leave and get our money back. Of course we got a little testy out in the lobby. He was hovering over us, trying to say that. when you have an empty theater, it’s going to sound louder. Well, I would imagine you would be able to turn down the sound and adjust it accordingly by checking the room instead of being up in your little projection booth. We were so pissed off. We were really looking forward to seeing this movie!
This creep obviously didn’t give damn. We hardly ever go to the movies. And will never go back there.
The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting! The lobbies were also dirty. Garbage cans were overflowing, trash was all on the floors, just terrible. For the price you pay to see a movie, this was unacceptable! Rockaway, NJ AMC clean up!
