Went to the Amboy Family Restaurant for a late lunch our waitress was very nice it was her first day but she was very helpful. There was another woman in there that was not friendly or helpful. The restaurant is your run of the mill family restaurant nothing special and a bit run down but it is clean.
The food was ok, I ordered a steak sandwich which was supposed to be served on a hoagi roll but instead it was served on toast which was super dried out and the steak was very thin and cooked beyond well done so it was like leather. Another person at the table ordered a Colorado burger he said it was ok, not anything outstanding the third person ordered a Reuben she said it was good but wasn't a fan of the rye bread but that is on her not the restaurant. The soup was good it seemed hot and fresh. We ordered an appetizer of cheese curds they were tasty and hot.
My first time here. I enjoyed the location and food.
We love coming here. Food is great. On Wednesday the boasted chicken with spaghetti special is great!
The food taste so good!???? Waitress was nice and friendly. We had a nice time in an old fashioned restaurant ???? So glad they re-opened !
Good food, great price. It's rare you see a small town diner that can cook more than just Eggs and bacon. Highly recommend.

I’ve ordered various things on the menu and have enjoyed every single one of them. The food is good and they do some things that you aren’t use to, such as the Amboy Clipper Skillet Or the Farmers Skillet both really good. The best skillet on the menu in my opinion is the Steak Skillet I’m tempted to order it every time I come in. I have yet to try a lot of the dinner stuff but I’m sure it will all be very good. I don’t know what some other people were saying about service because every waitress I’ve had as been super sweet and patient. You sit in an old fashioned set up and enjoy your food it’s very nice.
Walked in and it was a little dated. Opened the menu and it was very extensive. We had the fish and chips and tuna sandwich and both were very good.
My favorite place! Been coming here since I was 5! Taco pizza and onion rings are the best!
