Overall not a good experience. Showed the nail tech what I wanted, he said “okay” then wasn’t able to do the design I wanted which was fine, we opted for something simple. Cuticles are rough, nail glue all under the nail and my skin, I have multiple cuts from rough nail filing, the nail file unfortunately has seen better days and tips are way to big for real nails. Would not recommend.
Update: after 2 nails my gel x set is all lifting. Can’t even soak off because my finger tips hurts from cuts.
New Ambiance I have come to experience! The one in Hyde park has a different layout but the same pleasant atmoshere. Angie did my fill in this go round. She was not able to do the design I initially wanted, which is cool, I picked something more simple, but she had an issue getting the lines straight, so I just told her to dot them up lol, and they turned out beautiful! I've gotten loads of compliments about them! Gotta love happy accidents!
As a rule of thumb, large-scale chain salons aren’t known for taking their time with each individual, but that’s not the case at Ambiance Nails in Rookwood Exchange, and certainly not with Vanny. I have stubborn callouses on my feet and most just let it go because it’s WORK to get my feet soft, but she recommended a great collagen treatment and really made sure my feet looked the best they have in years. She took the time. She also cared when I said I was looking for someone who could do a good pointed nail shape. I’ve also never had dips, only gels, and she explained to me that gels can often curl nails under and cause cracks at the edges. So, it’s especially hard to keep a good point. Which is exactly what I’ve been struggling with for years, but NO one has ever bothered to explain that to me. The dips were perfect, and the shape is wonderful: no tilting off-center or ovals like sooo many others do and call it a point. I’ll definitely be coming back to see Vanny—couldn’t recommend her or the salon more highly.
I just moved the the area and I walked in for a basic pedicure and number of things went wrong. The tech did not ask me a single question about what I wanted (cut, shape, etc) except confirmed that I chose a basic pedicure. At one point he stated that he was using sugar but did not tell me it wasn’t part of the package. I unknowingly chose an almost dried out color and the tech disappeared with the polish and reappeared with a polish so thin it was almost clear and needed to be applied in 4 coats. Upon checkout my pedicure was $10 more than I thought and when I disputed it, the tech was insistent that I requested additional services of a sugar scrub. I had no idea that it wasn’t part of the package as it was my first time here. I came here to relax and ended up feeling like I got scammed. I will never return here.
I have been going to Rita for over two years! She is absolutely amazing. She takes pride in her work and ensure I leave with amazing nails. Environment is always clean and everyone is welcoming.
Amy is the best! She pays attention to detail and is willing to fix anything you point out so don't be afraid to speak up. she did this in less than an hour and it's one of the best manicures i've had!
I have gone to multiple Ambiance spa locations; Colerain was a favorite until Victor left and I was desperate to find someone like him- luckily I stumbled upon Boys at the Rookwood location and he is hands down one of the best techs I have come across! Rookwood is the best location! Added bonus - my husband got to watch the beginning of the game while I had a nail appointment! Can’t wait to go back and have Boys do a fun Halloween design!
I reached out before posting this review… no resolution. Daughter made appt way in advance for wedding nails, gel X or acrylics for what she wanted. 1-Tech was changed day before 2-asked for almond shaped, got square 3-toes and nails didn’t match color (as was requested) 4-used dip on gel x? Should have done acrylics 5-lumpy, uneven, terrible result. Paid to have nails redone closer to our house thankfully, Norwood far from home, only went because of recommendation of tech who ended up NOT AVAILABLE?? Didn’t contact till several weeks after due to destination wedding, location says it’s too late. My daughter didn’t speak up at the time because she was freaking out and trying to tell herself they weren’t that bad… they were. Do better Ambiance. I sent pictures and timestamps. Posting pic of inspo (almond shaped) and actual nails.
