Best WLM Reviews

We had lunch everyday this week at Ambel and the lunch was incredible. Seafood was fresh and delicious. We also rented the beach chairs on the beach and it was so convenient for my two year old because the umbrellas are not close to one another.
Nestled along the stunning coastline of dhermi the ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with the sound of waves adding to the charm. Service is warm and attentive, making you feel right at home!!
Highly recommend

I went back a few times and the service has gotten better and the food was good. It's best to pay by cash otherwise thet charge you a CC fee for the machine. Will be coming back.

The first review was about 2 weeks ago (May 24, 2023) and I gave it a 5 star rating (see below). Now I am giving it a ONE star review. Why?
Not because the food was bad, in fact it was good. The coffee good, eggs, potatoes good. No problem there. But because were devious between charging me one amount when I was there and then charging a different amount with the credit company.
On my receipt today it says $14.37 + $2 tip in which they gave the paper tip to the waitress instead (I'm starting to doubt it now! However, when I got home and checked my credit card company was BILLED $17.02 (which I will be disputing and see pictures). On the receipt, the final amount is scratched out.
I just looked at the one from 2 weeks ago and found out that they had overcharged my bank $13.66 when the receipt said $10.19. If alone I usually give $2 tips, but if d If not alone I give more. But both times I was alone.
This was the first review from 2 weeks ago May 24, 2023:
I had given them a 5 star review even if the waitress was a sourpuss.
The handicapped parking is on the side of the restaurant and you still have to walk. It would have been closer to walk if I had parked in a regular parking space in front. The doors are not handicap friendly for people in wheelchairs. You have to pull them open so better go there with someone to open and hold them for you. But there is space inside for a wheelchair.
So far prompt service as soon as I arrived. I asked for coffee since I was having breakfast. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, toast and home fries (the square fried ones).
It came as asked and the food was good. The coffee was ok. Not anything to write home about. The waitress was nice and prompt. I did not have to wait long to get my food. Good temperature.
The bill was not detailed though. There was only 1 set amount on it. I took pictures.
While the atmosphere is warm and comforting, our recent experience with the restaurant has us not wanting to come back. The first time we went there, everything was fantastic. The second time we went there, it took over an hour to get our drinks and even then our order was never taken. We politely watched the tables around us get taken care of, orders taken and drinks, with the same waitress apologizing each time she walked by. We ended up leaving because we waited over an hour and 20 minutes without having our order taken. The third time, we decided to try dinner instead of breakfast and the mashed potatoes taste as if they were instant potatoes without made milk. The catfish was lovely, I'll leave a compliment because it was cooked perfectly ???? ????
Good old fashioned comfort food! The service was friendly and fast. I know that there are some complaints about speed in other reviews, but I didn't see it. I got dinner (which was a bit salty for my taste) but still very good. I will be back to try breakfast!
THAT was real, Southern homemade biscuits and gravy. Folks, it was unmistakable from the first bite. A lot of places claim to have great biscuits and gravy, and they're usually "pretty good". This was exceptional. This is what you're hoping for when you order biscuits and gravy.
We walked in as new customers 1030 on a Saturday with no acknowledgment. Finally a server said ‘seat yourself’ after standing there for a few minutes. We seated in the corner booth and again received no acknowledgment. At 7 minutes a server walked by filling everyone’s coffee, noticed another table with no drinks, mentioned to them ‘oh let me get your drinks’ and looked at us and just walked by with No drinks or no menus on our table. 3 other groups walked in after us and their drink orders were being taken and received menus. We decided at that point to just leave.
The reviews were mixed so we took a chance. The plates that were being brought out to other guests look like decent portions.
I usually don’t like leaving bad reviews but this has upset me. We had a bad experience before but tried to give them a second chance when management changed recently. The first time we visited the wait after being seated was atrocious. The menu seemed scattered but the food itself was alright, not bad for the price either. The second time we visited, we were sat and waited 15 minutes without even getting a drink order or anything. Our server (I think she was our server, I don’t know she never spoke with us after seating us) looked over multiple times while serving other tables and never bothered to check on us. We didn’t bother to waste our time and left. We were hoping things might have improved since the management change but 15 minutes to not even get a glass of water is ridiculous.
Very friendly staff and good country diner food. Don't expect anything fancy, but you will get a cup of coffee set fast in front of you and a large choice of solid country selections on the menu.
The biscuits and gravy were quite good and the Texas toast grilled cheese, although not quite melty and topped with a pickle circle, was good. The chicken and dumplings was very good and the pecan pie was as well.
The prices were incredibly low. And you really did get your money's worth and more, tbh.
All in all it's a good place to go and the staff are honestly exceptionally nice, speedy and helpful.
