Best WLM Reviews

I visited Amber for a team dinner, and we ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes, including Parkstreet Cauliflower, Bheega Kulcha, Kadhai Paneer, and Kale Kofta.
Bheega Kulcha: This dish was quite soggy but had great flavor. The addition of pomegranate provided a nice touch, and the presentation was impressive, though it was hard to appreciate in the dimly lit atmosphere (literally no lighting, it was very dark inside).
Parkstreet Cauliflower: This is a variation of the classic Manchurian, but with more subtle flavors. However, the tomato sauce used overwhelmed the dish, making it less enjoyable for me. Overall, it's a decent dish but not outstanding.
Kadhai Paneer: Oh my! This was very disappointing. The dish was undercooked, and the base needed more time to develop its flavors. It tasted like something from a small, less refined restaurant. The slices of ginger didn’t complement the dish, and the large chunks of cherry tomatoes completely ruined the flavor.
Kale Kofta: This was an experimental dish that didn’t quite work. The strong bitter taste of kale was the only flavor I could discern. I've had this dish at other places, but this version missed the mark entirely and didn’t pair well with the base sauce.
Breads: I tried the spinach naan and regular naan, and both were dry and tough. Perhaps my disappointment stemmed from the high expectations I had given the price and location, especially since many other Indian restaurants in the area do this better.
On a positive note, the mocktail was delicious.
Would I come back?
No.
Are the prices reasonable?
No.
Good food, great location.
A bit pricey IMO for the food, but I guess you pay for the location and the ambiance.
Service is good overall.
If you want really good quality Indian food and don't mind a bit of premium for it, check it out. ????????
I had heard a lot about Amber Indian Restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. The ambience is very good, and you feel the positivity as soon as you enter. Walk-ins are allowed, but on busy days (especially weekends), they do accept reservations. Please note, you need to look for street or a public garage parking.
Personally, I felt it is very pricey. Since I had a late lunch, I decided to go with starters and ordered just two items: Shrimp Ambotik and the Tandoori Sampler, along with Coke, Jeera Soda, and Lemonade. The total came to $100, including tip.
The food was well done and the quantity was right. Quality-wise, it was satisfactory—nothing particularly amazing. They do serve liquor, if someone is looking for that option. Overall, the experience was good with attentive service. Food lovers can give it a try, but be prepared for the final bill.
We went for lunch buffet here. Staff is welcoming and ambiance is really good! The spread however was too basic and the options were very limited. For the price we thought overall it could have been better.
Visited this place during my trip to San Francisco. Mediocre food. Nothing matched to my expectations. It felt like they heated everything in microwave and served it. Service was average. Bill comes with added gratuity by default. Won’t recommend.
Amazing food and service. Upscale Indian food perfect for a night out. The cauliflower appetizer is absolutely a must try, it was unbelievable. The saag paneer and daal also stood out, bursting with flavor and quality. I can't say enough good things, Amber India restaurant is definitely a gem and shouldn't be missed.
Amazing Dal Makhni (stewed for 32 hours) with garlic naan, chilli thyme naan. Loved the Kadhai Paneer and Saffron rice as well.. Mango Mojito is also worth trying!
Amber Restaurant exceeded all my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious. We had the tandoori sampler, kale kofta, and the garlic naan—each dish was the best I've ever had. Velington provided top-tier service, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I came here for the SF half marathon, and after this fantastic meal, I feel energized and excited for the race tomorrow. It’s also dog friendly seating outside if you have a behaved dog.
