The hotel looked nothing like the pictures that were advertised. There was a bunch of garbage outside our door to the room. There were no blankets on the bed. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. The faucet was broken to the shower & the drain was clogged. The tub was very dirty on the bottom, I would never take a bath in it. The chain lock was broken @ the front door & was ripped off of the wall. The A/C unit was so loud that it sounded like a truck was outside. I have asthma & when we left this morning my lungs felt very tight & I was having a hard time breathing. The mini fridge had some dirt in it. We left 3 hours early because we did not feel safe there. The advertisement said we were in walking distance of the beach. We had to drive to get to the beach. We had a hard time using the key cards in the door. When we asked the front desk man about it he explained it to us. In my opinion he should have explained that before we went to the room. He was not very friendly when we 1st came to the desk for check in too. There were not many wall sockets to plug in phone chargers.
My stay at the Ambassadors Inn & Suites has been unexpectedly extended, however thanks to the General Manager Shawn and his dedicated staff, what could have been a stressful, uncomfortable, anxiety skyrocketing experience, was anything but! Shawn's obvious expertise in this field in addition to an innate set of skills and sensibility that can't be taught in any school shows in all of the positions and staff here. The depth and breadth of customer service I experienced from the staff here hearkens back to the days when, as a customer, you felt heard and appreciated. This is something that has eluded me for many yesrs, though they have been filled with countless hotel stays. Not once have I seen anyone on the staff get frustrated, roll their eyes, or ignore a guest. Ben, Senior Front desk agent, has a very warm smile and calm demeanor that puts you at ease; even when a guest was in labor and had to leave via ambulance, and a bunch of other emergency vehicles were there including the Fire Department, Ben was seamlessly directing the detour traffic on property so that the guests were not confused and frazzled and the emergency response people had a clear path entrance and exit to do their jobs without being encumbered by anything. The cleaning and building maintenance staff he was always responsive and attentive. You can see from everyone that is employed here the care that they take, and pride in there work . They definitely go above and beyond; as someone who is not from the oceanfront nor used to staying extendedly in hotels and has extreme anxiety, Ambassadors Inn and Suites made my experience the most stress free that it could be. The location is divine; even though you are on the main road the property is set back far enough that feels like secluded. The property is very well lit; I was not uncomfortable or nervous walking anywhere on property day or night, and there is plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious, the price extremely reasonable and competitive anywhere, but given the ocean front location; that jettison's it's value skyward. This gem I have found in the Ambassadors Inn and Suites affirms that, in the field of customer service, which can be dominated by technology to include, most notably, the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) proves that there's no replacement or equivalent for exceptional people in the world of customer service. Thank you kindly and know you will be my go-to and reccomendation from now on!
I had a reservation to stay at the Ambassadors Inn & Suites from May 24, 2024 through May 26, 2024 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When I arrived at the property it was completely uninhabitable. The smell in the room was unbearable and a health hazard as it smelled like mold and mildew. Further, the room next door had multiple stained mattresses stacked on top of each other with the window open, looking like a storage area. I was very uncomfortable with the dirtiness of the room and felt unsafe on the property. The photos advertised on the website looked nothing like the actual rooms when you got to the property. This false advertisement was unacceptable and the room was uninhabitable.
You get what you pay for I definitely see that now, the rooms were nasty with a weird smell, the bathroom was dirty tub was dirty I ask Maintenance to come and clean and the lady tried to use the same rag that she used to clean the toilet to wipe down the sink I had to tell her it was completely unsanitary, it was blood on the pillow just completely nasty. I spoke with the guy at the front desk about what was happening and he was completely rude. The only reason why I stayed is because everything else was booked for the weekend take it from me pay the extra money for a clean space
I drove almost 6 hours for my vacation and had a booked room for the 4th of July and was told on the phone while booking the room I was able to pay at the motel. Upon arriving I was told I couldn't check in yet my reservation was there. I asked could I give the Indian lady $50 extra dollars to get my roomed cleaned and check on early because i called prior and was told i could. It went and said then and next thing she said it was canceled. How is this possible within a 5 min time frame. Then I asked well is there any other rooms. She said yes a queen size and king. $780 plus dollars before taxes. $200 almost more then the 2 beds I was getting.
Not to mention as I was standing there multiple people came down complaining about roaches they just seen as they checked in the room and tons of black mold. Showed me pics and all. I'm thinking I dodged a bullet here.
I honestly WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place. The Indians were very rude. I mean rude as hell. They were caught in numerous lies about My reservation.
Ambassador Inn and Suites is an excellent location! It’s a safe location, nice and lit up at night! The bed and bathroom was clean, a little dust here and there and a hint of weed. (The more our air ran the better it smelled) there’s no microwave in your room there’s one in the lobby same with coffee pot . The bed was comfy! The TV didn’t get good channels just about food network and history channel. You get what you pay for! It was nice to be able to be parked already and just walk to the beach!
Had room 309. Was a good experience. Room was clean, had what I needed. I don't know what some people expect for the price, but I thought it was a good deal. Only issue was a missing shower knob, which I just used a pair of pliers for.
4 blocks from beach, with a FoodLion and Walmart in close range.
The room appeared not have been updated in 20 years. It was old, shower curtain hadn’t been changed in years, and there were roaches. The place was falsely advertised by reservation clerk that our room would have an ocean view. That was a lie. Stay away from this place.
