Best WLM Reviews
Ámbar Restaurante offers pretty good food, especially for a hotel restaurant. The quality of the dishes is definitely a step up from what you’d expect at most hotel spots. The ambiance is nice too—elegant and inviting, making it a pleasant place to dine.
That said, the prices are on the high side. While the food is good, it doesn’t quite justify the cost, especially if you’re not staying at the hotel. Overall, it’s a decent place to try, but expect to pay a premium for the experience.
I went with my coworkers and we had an amazing meal at Ambar. They offer a $25 dish that gives you a little bit of everything, with plenty of options to choose from, including dessert. The service was excellent, and the architecture of the building transports you—it feels like you’re dining in Mexico or another exotic destination.”

Amber is a hotel restaurant. Sadly, hotel restaurants are typically poor in quality and high in price. Neither is true at Ambar. The breakfasts were excellent, with only one caution they don't really offer a typical American breakfast. They do have a couple of item (for example bacon and eggs), but largely the offering is Latino and the breakfasts found in inner Mexico. I went with a variety breakfast tacos and all were amazing. We were lucky enough to get Ashley as our server. She brought a smile to the table and very pleasant conversation. Thanks Ashley! The restaurant is beautifully decorated. My photo below shows the turkey breakfast tacos. I loved the technique where they caramelized the cheese on the corn tortilla before placing the main ingredients.
Loved it! Had an amazing dining experience. The Crema chili verde soup was amazing - as well as the service! Omar R was like a food angel! He really made the dining experience exceptional. Beautiful ambiance as well.
The best braised short rib I have ever eaten. The brussel sprouts were different than any others I have had and one of the best. The atmosphere is casual, yet elegant. The young lady vocalist perfectly fit the atmosphere, style and mood. If you're ever in El Paso, please experience Ambar
Greetings. I was greeted by the hostess, Miranda politely and courteouly. Miranda showed me to my table. My server was Aileen. Aileen was patient, professional, and attentive. She explained items on the menu when I was unsure what it was, patiently and clearly. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass Al Pastor. It was served on a bed of garlic-yuca puree. I ordered grilled asparagus which was served between the puree and Sea Bass. For desert I ordered the Flour less Xocoatl Cake. The Flourless cake bites had an interesting flavor. It had a spicy hint to them. Overall I enjoyed the mesl, the service, and the atmosphere. It's located inside of the Plaza Hotel.
Great atmosphere, but the service is not what you would expect from this type of restaurant. Food took 40 minutes to arrive, right after I asked for a steak knife and a drink and took 20 more minutes. I ended up sending the food back and asking for my check, served came back with a discount which I refused, I was not there looking for a discount, I was there for dinner with my family and they just screwed up. Anyways … don’t go there, there’s at least 6 places less than a block away where you could actually have a nice dinner
Just an overpriced breakfast. Bacon was cold, and it looked like it had been dressed with oil to give it a fresh look. The toast was drowned in butter. Their espresso machine was down. Would not recommend. I meant to try the Mother's Day brunch but made the wrong reservation. I will try their special day menus when they come up next.
