We had a good experience at the Ambar India Restaurant. The food was amazing! The best Indian food that I have had in the Midwest. My group tried lamb, chicken, and shrimp dishes. The sauces were all great. The garlic naan bread was delicious. I also tried the coconut soup. The service was great! The ladies took great care of our table. They were very polite and answered all of our questions. The only complaint that I have is the restrooms need remodeled. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back. It was a great recommendation from my wife and son who visited a month before me.
Great Indian restaurant. Pricier than some Indian places but ballpark similar. Very nice array of choices. Standard fare to more traditional. Service was quick and polite. Not very busy when we went.
I've been dining at Ambar India since freshman year of college. That is admittedly over a decade ago ????.
In all that time, the food has been top notch and the service excellent. I have never had a complaint.
I really enjoy bringing a date here in the evenings, but it is more of a third date kind of place. This is definitely the more classy Indian restaurant in the area.
Delicious Indian food in Clifton with decent portion. Garlic naan is amazing. I tried the lamb and it is super tender and aromatic (no smelly lamb).

The best Indian food in Cincinnati. We love Ambar. The chicken curry sauce was so flavorful, as was the paneer biryani. Very good service too. Ambar is the best!
Best Indian restaurant in cincy. Chicken Tikka Masala with paneer Naan is my go to.. Portion size is great. Enough to feed 2 or eat leftovers a time or 2. I can't really comment on service or atmosphere because I get takeout or delivery.
We heard great things about this place. Sadly, we were very disappointed. All the dishes we had were underwhelming and the best way I can describe the flavor is fast food - ish. There was no depth and it tasted like the spices were thrown on just before serving.
Amazing Indian food!! One of the best Indian places you will ever find. They ask for your spice level for every dish which is nice customization. The food was so full of flavor and you could tell it wasn't just thrown together. High quality.
The price is the only thing that I wasn't impressed with. Maybe that's normal for Indian restaurants in this area, but it was probably $2-$4 more per meal than most Indian restaurants I have been to. However, I would definitely come here again, just maybe not as often as if the price was a bit lower.
